Ron's best story since he joined is the Aly pregnancy story but of course it's short lived and involves a bunch of actors Corday had to fire to meet budget this year.  The 'who gets the baby' in the old days would have lasted a year at least.  It was all so rushed and played along side another Ron special train wreck, Eve's revenge, which was unwatchable as usual.

Not a lot of productions up and running so not surprised to hear actors like Sweeney and Thiebaud are running back to their soaps for a paycheck.

But yeah, Sweeney/Sami brings energy to the show. Pay her whatever she wants. They aren't paying Alfonso anymore.

Same.

You mean since she found out he was alive? Appeared no. I want to say during one of her last visits, Sami mentioned his therapy was going well though. I think someone else will know better than me though on mentions.

Great news for the show. AS managed her 2014 exit from DAYS perfectly: she has built her Hallmark producing business enviably and has dipped into DAYS in such a way that she maintains goodwill with the audience and TPTB at DAYS and Sony and NBC.

It sounds like a deal that will take her well into 2021.

Sounds like it's a year deal basically per Deadline:

I assume all her Hallmark projects have been put on hold since they rely so heavily on romance plus the added costs of co-vid precautions might make them not worth to shoot at the moment. I guess that why she was willing to jump on for a year arc.

This is what I find so outrageous about DAYS’ advance production schedule. All too often you will have actors who will “leave” the show and make a big fanfare of saying “oh it’s been so wonderful, thank you for having me on”, while in the meantime the production is far in advance that they’ve probably taped new appearances 2-3 times by the time they’ve made their initial “farewell speech”.

This is why I don’t pay too much heed to DAYS’ comings and goings anymore, due to the immense lag time.

For real. I've stopped keeping track. Aside from Kristian Alfonso (who will no doubt return for the inevitable series finale down the road), I pretty much assume anyone who leaves will be back or is already back.

I'm glad Ali Sweeney is sticking around longer. But I hate how the status of Sami's life has been in such a state of limbo ever since her 2014 exit. The idea of chasing EJ around all over the world and now caring for someone who's supposedly EJ with 90% body burns (but who will probably return onscreen one day with perfect skin) just feels erratic. I'm over a month behind on DAYS, but is there any mention of Johnny?

    • Christian Streaty wrote her second freelance script today on Days. Surprised they gave the first funeral episode to a newbie.
    • And the third thing, which I have no cite for, and I may look to see if one is findable, but supposedly she said that the show had too much gay content in it. And, to be fair, that could be someone making a criticism about balance & not be bigotry but when it's added to the other, that's why it bugs people.

The greatest tv series season finale in history.
    • Mick Savage was sooo unbearable. And more unbearable was the reaction from the female characters to him - they were acting like he is God's gift to women and sooo irresistible. To a point of unbelievable cringe.
    • Today was a short one. Only 33 minutes.  The ‘Part One’ graphic at the beginning was pretty interesting though. I didn’t expect them to do something like that.  I like how everything was focused around John and his family and friends. Again, the acting and the dialogue was very well done and well written. And I love that they were able to incorporate Drake’s, “swing for the fences” phrase into the script. It was nice seeing everyone interact with each other, especially characters who don’t often share scenes together. It felt like every character was part of a big family or community. Plus, an outdoor funeral in June makes a lot more sense than an outdoor funeral in December.  But yeah, it’s very, very strange that Will isn’t at the funeral, especially since we know that

I would much rather he had been there today. And, where’s Anna too? And Jack and Jennifer? What was the point of bringing them all back if they weren’t going to attend the funeral? I expected Steve to want to close down BlackPatch, though I’d rather he just retire and let Paul take it over. But I like that Kayla was there to comfort him. I wonder if he’s going to change his mind at some point.  It was nice seeing Shane again too. Now, he just needs to have more scenes with his son lol but I enjoyed seeing him comfort Marlena. I’m not really sure about his interaction with Cat though? Was it really necessary for this to happen now, at John’s funeral? They could’ve waited a little longer to introduce this story arc.  Btw, was Tate bleeding from his head in his first scene with Arianna?

    • Now this strikes me as funny. I have it up on my acct. The thing is I only have S2. Didn't want either 1 or 3.  Perhaps I should just list all of these that I have up.  Parodies: Dirty Sexy Money, Filthy Rich Incomplete: The Monroes, All That Glitters, Falcon Crest (have all just not all up), Once & Again S2 only Complete: Models Inc, Pasadena, Pacific Palisades, Paper Dolls, Flamingo Road
    • This is wonderful! Thank you for posting this! I loved the first two seasons and never got to see the final season when they cancelled the DVD release. I've been hoping this popped up on streaming but no luck. Happy I'll finally get to see how it ended!
