Hey do you ever remember seeing a scene between Lorie and jill ever physically fighting in the hospital room when Lorie caught jill checking in on Stuart? I remember hearing the episode through audio on YouTube and it sounded like they had to be separated lol i would love to see that scene and wouldn't that technically be the first y&r girl fight I always thought the first y&r girl fight was Katherine and jill.

Laurie arrives at the Brooks home as Jill  is performing a tracheotomy on  Mr. Brooks. She screams  “What are you doing?” and tries to pull Jill away from Stuart. Snapper is on the telephone giving instructions.

There was a later hospital scene where Stuart is asked questions to check brain damage. One was his year of birth which he said 1927.

There was also a scene following  this where Ma Foster thanks Jill for saving his life. Jill is on her hands and knees trying to clean the blood off the carpet.

No, I don't remember that. This was pre VCR and I was a kid going to school so if it didn't happen in the summertime I probably didn't see it. I'm actually amazed at the things I do remember. Even things that didn't happen in the summertime. I'm thinking either I never went to school or they used a lot of flashbacks back then.

Wow. That's just...strange. On so many levels.

I have been trying to figure that out for the longest time, cause peggy was friends with the Joann character so i would assume they must have all interacted lol, Chris Brooks was more seperated then Lorie, leslie and Peggy if im correct

Oh ok yes that's the same stuff i heard, I just thought maybe they kinda scuffled abit by the way it sounded. Do you remember who separated them?

Re GL

Interesting to see what the Dobsons do upon arrival.

It seems that Ken and Janet were already on the way out under Cenedella.

That left room for the Dobsons to bring in (so far)  Andy Norris, Hope Bauer, Chad Richards and Ann Jeffers.

2 newbies and 2 characters tied to established families.

At this point Seems that Chad will provide story for Leslie and Hope. Andy will be a troublemaker, too soon to see what their plans for Ann were.

It's interesting seeing the Dobson's start off on GL, knowing they would eventually kill off maybe one (or two) of GL's popular characters that they're currently writing for. It always make me wonder what GL's canvas would've been like without those departures.

Did Cenedella have any really successful writing stints? On these summaries he's getting passed around from soap to soap, but I found his time on The Doctors to be boring and uninspired. He attempted to tackle social issues but it made it a boring PSA in my opinion. Wasn't he the writer who wrote AW before Lemay took over in the 70s?

Through this, we also get to observe The Dobson’s work pre-Allen Potter coming on as EP of GL and Gordon Russel’s work at OLTL pre-Joseph Stuart as EP.

It will be interesting to observer the differences in story content once these highly influential EP’s come aboard.

Mary's death and its aftermath on AMC had to be heartbreaking for viewers at the time. She had been written as so pure and faultless from her first appearance, even moreso than Tara, and to have her brutally gunned down in her own home as a child watches - yikes. I never knew they kept her on as a "vision" in the months following.

    • I don't think they had any idea who he was this time last year. I think they were keeping their options very open. Same with totally dropping the Trina romance that was spoiled for him in the mags once FV clearly took a shine to him. Frank's priorities are bright and blazing in one color. I do think Gio and Emma seem to have worked out given that she is very dry and sarcastic and he is like a hot golden retriever, but I'd still play the field or explore quads with both with very different people - Emma with a scheming young man (of color), Gio with possibly Trina or someone else, or even a boy. Then maybe put them back together, who knows. But of course none that will happen.

    • He definitely got lost in the shuffle last year. First, they were implying that he was Drew’s son, then he was nothing more than just Violet’s bff

And then they changed him to being Dante and Brook Lynn’s son, which was clunky at first but I’m enjoying the storyline now.
    • GM is adorable, charming and fun onscreen despite months of nothing to do until recently, and has a bodacious bod. I'm not cosigning the show or this story - I haven't watched a full episode in over a month - but I think we're all taking the small victories in 2025 at this point. I'm open to testing this theory!
    • I think Jason might've posted some numbers for the syndication a while ago and the numbers for Falcon Crest was horrible. Like 1.5 rating or something, which was terrible.    ETA: it was actually Paul Raven:   New to syndication 60 min Fall Guy 67 markets 3.1/8 Falcon Crest 110 markets 1.1/5 To get into the top 40, you needed a 4.6/9 rating for reference - and Falcon Crest managed to get into a lot of markets to begin with. In the fall of 1985 Dynasty, Dallas and Knots were syndicated (show / rating / share / coverage % / markets): Dallas 3.4 10 51.7 92 Dynasty 3.4 10 48.7 47  Knots Landing 3.3 10 12.5 20  So, Knots as an example trippled Falcon Crest's rating with 20 markets - I'm sure those were major ones but it just goes to show you how much Falcon Crest bombed in syndication.
    • It's not bad but the stories move too slow. It's the same problem when Dan O'Connor was CO-HW with Van Etten, they have a million stories and they all drag on endlessly with no resolution. I'd argue the majority of the stories airing now are good but you get sick of waiting months for something to happen.
    • Thanks. I must have missed that period entirely for Lifetime.
    • Thanks. I know Marland did that type of thing sometimes but it's less likely with these characters. I don't even remember Alex ever mentioning him.
