So wait, re: AMC - Tad first appeared in 1972? I've seen 1973 established as his first appearance forever. I also didn't realize Tempo Magazine had been a part of the show going that far back.

I'd never heard of the Erica scheme of trying to play "happy housewife" for a magazine story, but it's so typical of her, and Mona no-doubt flusteredly (yet with conviction) played right along. Interesting that Phoebe and Charles aren't mentioned anywhere in these 1972-1973 summaries (yet). I wonder if Agnes had always intended for Charles to leave her for Mona or if the idea came to her while wondering what to do with them beyond just having Phoebe be disapproving of her children's romantic lives.

Also - the final years of Secret Storm really don't seem that bad! There's a really good April 1973 episode on YT (audio only), so it's nice to read a little more from the months before and after that ep. It sucks that the Ames family was old news by now, but the Mark/Laurie story seems like it hit a ton of beats over a long period of time. I'd love to see or hear some of the Texas stuff with the Reddins.

That is what I thought about Tad too but he probably first appeared in fall 1972. As the DNS was first published in December 1972, we can’t go further back

What a disaster. Did he EP any other P&G soaps?

I don't think so..he was replaced by Bunim at ATWT and never heard from. I would think he retired as he was a P&G exec before he was a producer of the shows.

A reference to Jenny (who, to my knowledge, didn’t appear on-screen until 1981).

Cool.

Kitty Davis was hurt by her husband Nick’s insistence that their marriage was over. She ran away and collapsed in the snow. Phil Brent found Kitty, his step-mother and took her to Margo Flax’s when she accepted the end of her marriage. Anne Martin was horrifed when Paul, her husband, told her he was planning to divorce. She realized he had assumed she had chosen Nick. She sneaked out of the hospital and police realized she left intentionally because she withdrew money from her bank account. Secretary Mona Kane blurted out to Anne’s mother, Phoebe Tyler, that Nick gave Ann up so she could have a child. Phoebe refused to fire Mona as Charles asked and Mona was distraught by what she had unintentionally said. Paul rejected the possibility that Anne might not want a divorce.

Mona reluctantly agreed to testify to her daugther Erica Kane Martin’s adultery with Jason. Erica drank too much and broke down. She begged Jeff Martin, her former husband, to reconsider reconciliation but he refused. The divorce was finalized and Jeff and Mary Kennicott jubilantly planned for their marriage.

Tara Tyler sent Phil Brent a letter saying she did not meet him at the motel because she did not love him but because she did. She could not betray her husband Chuck. Phil rushed to California and Tara explained the baby was her first consideration. Despite her desire to tell Phil the truth, she remained faithful to her marriage. Phil returned him telling his mother Ruth Martin the baby could be his. Erica and Phil became closer in commiseration over their mutual unhappy lives. Erica went straight to Chuck telling him she hoped she would remain friends with Tara and him. An EPA job offer made Philip reconsider his decision to leave Pine Valley but Ruth was upset to see Erica near her son. Erica even told Tara she and Phillip were close.

Hey everyone i think i have reviewed this episode before, I wonder if any old time viewers would remember the scene with sally and Pierre vs the robbers, does anyone know why they wanted to rob the restaurant or was it just a random closing to there storyline.

I assume not long after this sally would basically leave the canvas for a couple of years.

Was this also gwen Sherman early times on the show or was she on in 73 also?seems like even until 1982 when greg left he never got to find the love of his life and we of course have seen him years after and it seems like he is one of those characters that never got some good love stories.

Was Gwen Sherman related to Mitchell Sherman on Y&R? Or was that pure coincidence?

This was discussed earlier and seems it is a Bill Bell thing to use names again, probably a nod to Sherman Magidson Bill's Y&R legal consultant and writer.

I think Mitchell Sherman first appears in synopsis around 1975 or 76. Did William Wintersole play the role that early on ? IMDB lists him starting in 1986, but I saw a Y&R cast photo from 1980 and he is in it.

Mitchell Sherman was first mentioned in July 1975, after Philip’s death. Gwen was back in early 1976 for a very short stint but I have found anything about them being related.

Do you still have the cast photo ? I don’t think I have ever seen it.
