OMG I completely forgot about Rex Sterling and his obnoxious tan! I always loved Ashley with Brad. I never liked her with Victor or anyone else

Ashley and Brad were a dud but better than anything on YR right now.

I'm actually more excited about the Friday classics than the current episodes 😂

Can't wait to see what's unearthed next week.

I so much love the classic ! This is the Y&R I was in love with when I was a kid ! Top notch acting and the music ! I am humming all the tunes with such pleasure. Was happy to see Douglas and Miguel who are long forgotten but I loved all these minor characters who were an important part of the show identity.

No interruptions in NY, so far. The drama in this episode is SOOOO good. What ever happened to Miguel? So weird seeing Jack in Victor's house.

Miguel was said to have retired years after his last appearance. I think he was last seen in 2005 at Cassie’s funeral.

Indeed. They’ve not cut in yet.

This show just had so much depth (literally and figuratively) and atmosphere. I would be embarrassed to run the current show after this.

I think almost every Black soap actor in the 1990s got overshadowed by Shemar. What happened to the careers of Dondre T. Whitfield, Monti Sharp, Keith Hamilton Cobb, Kevin Mambo, Peter Parros, Jason George. None of them really had the same degree of daytime and post-daytime success as Shemar.

Mmhmm... :)

Sorry, I was just picturing all of them. lol  Back to what you were saying, yes, they were overshadowed, and it seemed for awhile, all the other soaps were trying to find their "token Shemar."  Even Y&R made a big deal over that one guy a few years back with the beautiful eyes (I can't for the life of me remember his name, but he was on around the same time as Lamon Archey) who was supposed to be the "next Shemar" but that went nowhere.

EDIT: Redaric Williams!  I knew the name would come to me.

Between this and the ATWT reunion at 2, it feels like a classic CBS soaps day with a relatively recent episode of B&B in the middle.

And Scott Bryce has been added to the reunion list.

CBS should just air classics during the pandemic. What a treat that would be :) I don't know what kind of numbers Let's Make A Deal and The Talk get these days, but wouldn't it be delicious for them to be bumped temporarily for ATWT, GL, etc repeats?  It'd be a bit of poetic justice, albeit short-term.

The Talk is trash and their ratings aren't great but LMAD is pulling great ratings.

I am so amazed by how damn good that episode was. This is why Y&R was such a ratings juggernaut in the 90s. So much happened in one hour of TV, and yet everything that happened felt earned and not cheap.
