New....CBS and Youtube have taken down previous uploaded classic episodes. The only way you'll be able to see it is via TV or CBS access website . They charge $5.99 a month but I was able to see the classic episodes without signing up.

Wow...can't wait...

October 1981 recaps. Source: https://vintage70ssoaprecaps.tumblr.com/tagged/The-Young-%26-the-Restless

THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS: Week of September 28 - October 2, 1981
(12:30pm - 60 minutes - CBS)
Vanessa, whose terminal condition deteriorated, made it appear that Lorie made Vanessa pay her to see Brooks.  Snapper brought Sally and Chuckie to Genoa City, where Chuckie will undergo kidney treatments.  Victor became obsessed with Nikki, who competed with Kay for Cash.  Victor also kissed Lorie.  Jill vowed to sue Jack, who sabotaged her job opportunity with his competitor.  Andy and Jill commiserated.  Leslie rebuffed Lance, who approached a reconciliation with Lorie.  Victor agreed to help Paul and April find Barbara.  Chuckie suspected his daddy is alive.

THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS: Week of October 5 - October 9, 1981

(12:30pm - 60 minutes - CBS)
Jill falsely concocted a sexual harassment suit against Jack.  Jack blew a fuse when Jill told Mary that Patty and Jack are still an item.  Cash urged Kay to outbid another for his exclusive services.  Liz took Sally and Chuckie to live with Jill and Phillip.  Vanessa stole and burned her medical records.  Lucas was depressed.  Fearing they would lose Patty to Jack, Carly and Mary tried to be buddies with Jack.  Paul and April searched for John Harding, Barbara Ann’s adoptive father, in Chicago.  Victor secretly purchased the Bayou.

THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS: Week of October 12 - October 16, 1981
(12:30pm - 60 minutes - CBS)
Vanessa plotted to send Lorie flying off a balcony.  Lance proposed to Lorie, who was leery of Vanessa’s attempts at chumminess.  Kay dismissed Cash’s services.  After John Harding was unable to reveal Barbara Ann’s whereabouts, Paul and April followed a tip to New York.  Victor, who planned to oust Cash, made Leoroy sign Nikki to a year’s contract at the Bayou.  Jack nixed telling Greg whether or not he had bedded with Jill, who needed proof as trial ammunition.  Mary warned Jack that she was monitoring his conduct.  Chris wanted to see Chuckie.

THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS: Week of October 19 - October 23, 1981
(12:30pm - 60 minutes - ABC)
Paul and April narrowly missed seeing Barbara, who fled to Chicago with her boyfriend Cliff.  Barbara and Cliff are being sought by cops and thugs for storing pot.  Lorie accepted Lance’s marriage proposal.  Vanessa advised Lorie to tell Lance he’s Brooks’ papa, but Lorie realized this was Vanessa’s attempt to reconcile Lance and Leslie.  Andy received an urgent call from his wife, Karen.  Nikki signed with the Bayou for a year, unaware that Victor was behind the deal.  Stuart fumed at Snapper for treating Chuckie.  Snapper and Chris vacationed in Jamaica.

THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS: Week of October 26 - October 30, 1981
(12:30pm - 60 minutes - CBS)
Andy halted Karen’s suicide attempt.  Jill accepted 10 grand from Jack to drop her lawsuit.  Barbara visited John, who informed her she’s adopted.  Vanessa forged a letter, supposedly from Lorie, vowing to prevent Vanessa from telling Lance that Brooks is his son.  Vanessa’s condition worsened.  Victor tried to ply Nikki with gifts through Douglas.  Victor posed as a decorator refurbishing Nikki’s dressing room.  Mary beamed at Paul and April’s new closeness, but Paul was unsure of his future  with April.  Lance and Lore set a November wedding date.

THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS: Week of November 2 - November 6, 1981
(12:30pm - 60 minutes - CBS)
Paul and April consummated their marriage.  John discovered Barbara’s carrying big bucks.  Jill and Andy got cozier.  Victor revealed his true identity to Nikki.  Cash and Nikki sensed Victor was after Nikki’s bod.  Jonas, who discovered Karen’s penchant for “entertaining” men, persuaded her to get therapy.  Greg lit into Jill for settling with Jack out of court.  Dorothy groaned at Paul and April’s decision to stay hitched.  Lucas believed Vanessa’s friendship overtures to Lorie, who distrusted Vanessa.  Vanessa concealed her illness symptoms.  Chris and Snapper returned from their lovey-dovey vacation.

Yes! Victor bringing Nikki to the ranch and pretending he doesn't own it was on my list of wants. But hopefully Vanessa's fall is the same day! And maybe some of Jack/Jill. Was the show an hour at this point?

This could be a Victor week or a Victor/Nikki week like I'd predicted.

    • Sorry, catching up, and the bolded part, yes! Should have been sued by DH's family for that nasty sh*t too   Anywho, back to the show, Kristina is freaking nuts, she needs to be committed ASAP
    • Angry Dante was hot; sorry, but I'm not going to pretend it wasn't awesome seeing Dominic Zamprogna act his ass off in a way that was not crying.
    • Thanks, interesting and so believable (no Lonatrat or Clones...)Instead of the Lewis family he should have made the Oil family Granger...even if the audience didn't remember that one off character it would have been interesting to tie it into the fictional GL world.
    • Dante needs stick removed from his butt
    • When you bring up what I like to call "Shapiro's Folly" you think Dano's acting choices mattered? I ask because I don't think so. As far as I could tell almost universally the ABC fans hated the very idea of her being on all 4 shows! And, BTW, the headwriters also hated it, at least according to comments made by Passanante. But, it is not hard to imagine that they'd feel that way. And, I agreed. If she wanted success she should have planted "Rae" on one & given up her idea of branding, or whatever it was that she was after.
    • Okay, well her reasons were that she had a mandate to reduce the size of the cast & she had another mandate to make the cast overall younger, so her reason for picking Donna to off was because she was too old.  So, is that what you understand? Or are you thinking of something else? Which if so, I would be delighted to hear about it!  She had arbitrarily picked 50 as the age people needed to be younger than.  And, that is why she got rid of both Bridget & Spencer Harrison.  And, getting rid of Bridget was another of her horrible ideas.  Why do you refer to her as the Face of the Show? Don't feel bad. I am a major Cass fan & I don't remember him with Donna either, LOL! Can we say forgettable? And, yes, Lila was the most last minute of last minutes!!!!
    • This is AWESOME, thank you for taking the time to post this! My first thought: My memory is a lot better than I thought it was, LOL! The first episode I clearly remember watching had a scene of Ed confronting Holly about Christina's paternity. He lamented how wonderful things had been over Christmas, so looks like I started watching the show early 1976. The only thing puzzling me is where is Evie? I thought she was around BEFORE Rita got involved with Tim, but maybe that's one gap in my memory. It makes Rita look slightly better--in that case, she didn't seduce Tim knowing her sister had a crush on him.
    • Oh, well.  At least he can cry into his hoodie.
    • Sorry, just realized I'd somehow lost a whole paragraph in that last post.
