Clearly, the headwriter is bored with his own show, so let's just do a timewarp and then slowly fill in the missing pieces, like when Desperate Housewives jumped ahead 5 years. Can't wait to see all the bushes and shrubbery at HTS and The Park Bench look the exact same, because trees don't grow in Salem. Ron Carlivati realized he had nowhere to go with any of his stories, so he's simply skipping ahead and pretending those stories are over and done with. Unfortunately, no time jump in the world will ever make up for his severe deficiencies as a writer. Salem can jump all the way to the year 2525 and be relocated to another galaxy far, far away.
