From a sadly strongly paywalled story at Breaker Media:

It's probably a good thing most of us don't post here often now as the shameful conduct of the "legacy media" enabling the attention seeking and grudge holding of Tapper and Alex Thompson would probably have broken the servers. I avoid CNN as often as I can, so I had no idea that every anchor on CNN, probably even an AI Larry King, was plugging the book 24/7. The wagons truly are circling, as even some journalists who love to pretend they aren't like the rest, like Dave Weigel, have joined in. I am at the point where I have no use for any major reporters or media figures. I find it especially disgusting when I see reporters who talk about losing loved ones supporting this book after the reports you posted.

any thoughts re tony dokoupil as the cbs news anchor?

i’ve been less than impressed. but, my only exposure has been the endless, annoying, commercials for cbs mornings i must endure in order to watch ‘beyond the gates’ without paying for paramount+.

Every time I hear or see his name, I think, "Wasn't he on 'Dancing with the Stars'?," lol.

John Dickerson and Maurice DuBois sign off after their final "CBS Evening News" broadcast

Disgraceful by CBS! Who knew it would be so easy for the "free" press to capitulate and sell their soul. Too bad for them that it won't be so easy to regain the trust of the public. I hope it was worth it since they practically cancel themselves with this spineless behaviour.

The ongoing collapse at CBS continues. Everyone is leaking against Weiss.

Meanwhile, Bezos is trying to slash WP's foreign and sports desks. They briefly said they would not send anyone to the Olympics and now have reversed it.

A one-woman unforced error.

In a move that will surprise absolutely no one except those who have had their heads lodged inside their you-know-whats, WaPo owner (and Charles Foster Kane worshipper) Jeff Bezos has laid off about a third of the workforce at the paper that (in)famously helped to bring down a president (who now looks like JFK compared to the Oval Office's current occupant):

Bezos orders deep job cuts at 'Washington Post'

The Washington Post embarked on severe cuts despite appeals by the newsroom to owner Jeff Bezos. The paper is to narrow its focus largely to politics and national security.

The Pulitzer Prize Board has counterdemands regarding Tr*mp's lawsuit against their 2018 Journalism Prize, for the "discovery" phase of the lawsuit.

Tr*mp is suing the Pulitzer Prize Board for defamation -- because they awarded the
2018 Pulitzer Prize for Journalism to the New York Times and Washington Post for their reporting on Tr*mp's collusion with Russia. He feels that those newspapers damaged his reputation and they shouldn't have received the Journalism Prize. In order to win this lawsuit, he must prove that the underlying reporting was false and that he actually suffered harm.

Part one, December 11, 2025
https://news.bloomberglaw.com/litigation/trump-heads-to-discovery-phase-in-pulitzer-defamation-suit
The Pulitzer Prize Board is demanding that Tr*mp provide all of his financial records and medical records proving that he suffered harm:

The discovery demands request “all documents” that back up that assertion, and then go further. The board wants any documents Trump possessed backing up damages claims in other defamation cases he filed over a 2005 biographical book “TrumpNation,” against CBS for a “60 Minutes” episode he claims cost him “at least $10,000,000,000,” against Dow Jones for reporting on Trump’s ties to Jeffrey Epstein, and in other cases where he’s faced off against CNN and ABC.

The board is also seeking private information going back to 2015, including internal polling Trump would have conducted on himself to gauge his reputation, all of his tax returns, documents regarding all of his assets, and any gifts and compensation he’s received since then.

Part Two, January 30, 2026
https://news.bloomberglaw.com/litigation/mueller-report-trump-russia-evidence-demanded-in-pulitzer-suit
The Pulitzer Board says he must prove that the underlying reporting was false, and therefore ...
The Pulitzer Prize Board has responded to this lawsuit with their own demand that he must release the full unredacted Mueller report. “Just like any other plaintiff, the President must articulate and prove his claims with evidence,” a spokesperson for the Pulitzer Board said in a statement.
Also they requested other documents:
The request includes high-profile documents, from the March 2019 report issued by Special Counsel Mueller examining Trump’s role in Russian election interference tactics to joint assessments on those Russian activities to US House and Senate reports on this issue as well as assessments by US spy agencies. None of these have been released in complete, unredacted forms.

The board is also seeking communications between Trump’s inner circle and Russia. The board demands letters, email, text messages, and social media direct messages of a Who’s Who of Trump campaign and administration staff including Stephen Miller, Michael Flynn, Jared Kushner, Steve Bannon, and Jeff Sessions.

Further, the board is demanding records regarding Trump’s investigations and firing decisions, documents related to the firing of FBI Director James Comey, and any communications around the potential firing of Mueller. A demand for records into the reason the Trump administration switched an investigation into the Russian interference investigation from US Attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania David Metcalf to Southern District of Florida US Attorney Jason A. Reding Quiñones.
