Losing weight is hard and he's doing it healthily by focusing on diet. He clearly knew he was overweight and not looking OK on camera and he's put in the hard work. I'm sure he's taken an immense amount of crap for how badly he was looking, which only makes the emotional side of that worse.

So I say, good for Freddie and all best of luck to him to keep going and keep it off.

Yeah, good for Freddie on the weight loss, but that doesn’t save him for me. I was never crazy about his looks, and he’s a lousy actor (although Chandler has matched him there lately).

The club looked barren for a NYE party. If you can’t fill the room and make it look real, don’t do it.  I’d rather see a house party than a fake ass club party.

Regarding the guys withiut shirts, I agree that Eric Martsolf looked better in his PASSIONS days. But don’t forget that he’s 47 — and for 47 he looks damn good.

Chandler is 28. I know some you guys melt at the sight of him, but sometells me that he won’t look nearly as good at 47 as EM does.

It's nice that they have toned down Sarah's personality. Lindsay's a great actress, but the material where she had to come off as so aggressive so fast didn't go over well. It was also nice to see her FINALLY interacting with the rest of the Hortons. Tom and Alice have so many descendants on the show, but they rarely feel like a family outside the Christmas episodes. I wish we could see more scenes of all of the Hortons interacting as family. I loved how they were developing the brother-sister dynamic between Jennifer and Lucas at one point. Those scenes are the types that make soaps feel like "a family."

Also, aren't Will and Sonny going to have to deal with the fact that Gabi, the mother of their child, has been gaslighting their cousin, Abby, this whole time? That's a whole story beat that's not being explored and would give them something to focus on together as a couple. There's your custody battle right there. Maybe I'm jaded, but I don't really care who raises Holly at this point. Although, I hated Leo the first time, I'm loving this scheming, blackmailing to get into the rich family version. It's a great soap trope. He's that type of low-level soap villain that brings in some necessary humor (think Gina on the classic Santa Barbara) I hope they find a way to continue to weave him into story.

Also, I find all of the focus on Freddie's weight to be depressing. I mean c'mon + or - 20lbs he's still a good looking guy. Is his body perfect? No, but in a way, that made him cuter to me than the cookie cutter bodies of the other actors. That's a guy I could cuddle with! As someone who's dealt with body image issues of a different kind, body shaming in general turns me off, and when it's about a guy who's clearly a handsome dude it's mind boggling at the way some people focus on it. I'd LOVE to see pictures of the people who are criticizing him!

I'm still curious how a writer could mess up bringing on Sarah... that is a character with such an interesting backstory... the character practically writes itself... yet Ron manages to screw up bringing back a character with loads of built in story (feeling unfavored by Maggie compared to Melissa/Daniel, her conception being a result of artificial insemination, finding out that her biological father wasn't a guy named Evan but a doctor named Neil, discovering her mother sleeping with Neil thus beginning her hesitance at having a healthy romantic relationship, being estranged from the family since she hasn't been back for family functions in years, etc).

I guess it takes a writer with a unique talent to drop the ball even on characters with obvious avenues to explore.

I'm not too familiar with who is related to who but isn't Sonny only cousin to Abby since their parents are siblings? I agree though it would make a better story of two gay fathers taking Gabby to court for full custody instead of the Leo nonsense.

IMO he is on TV so he is fair game. His appearance is part of his job and not looking like a slob on screen. Notice how Ron hasn't had Sonny shirtless in years it seems??

I thought that some of the ladies on the show looked nice the other day including Chloe, Lani and Jen.  I also thought that Sarah looked decent looking. And I saw some chemistry between Sarah and Dr. Shaw. I wonder how long he will be around.

The Eve reveal was very weak IMO. I don't think hardly any of the characters on the show really cared if Eve returned or not except maybe Brady. And even he said he didn't feel like calling her yesterday when Chloe suggested it. IMO, her showing up in a hood like everybody would be scared to see her was lame. (Though I do know her return will be connected to a bigger and more important character return).

And I don't see any chemistry with JJ and Haley Chen. I feel bad for JJ, it's like they don't really have anybody decent for him as a love interest. I did enjoy his interaction with Theresa this last time around. I thought they had chemistry. Maybe they can bring her back for him.

I know...the DAYS family tree can be soooo confusing. So, Abby is both Will and Sonny's first cousin. Will's father is Lucas, half-brother to Jennifer, and Sonny's mother Adrienne is sister to Abby's father, Jack. I often feel like Will is not properly integrated with the rest of the Hortons.

Everyone is everybody's cousin it seems which I know makes it difficult to create new couplings.

I like Kassie as an actress and enjoyed her on OLTL, but Eve as a character has just never sparked for me. I've liked her best when she's at odds with goody goody Jennifer. Maybe this storyline will play that up. Also, as much as I thought Paige was a bore, I think Eve needs a child of her own at this point if she's going to stick around.

    • I'm anticipating most of the cast at the Nice location for a few weeks a la the Tuscan villa for Victoria and Ashland's wedding. I don't know why they bother. I'd rather see the money going into more regular home/office sets. This party has been a bust. No secrets revealed, break ups  etc. Ugly decorations and I'm going to slam the costuming again. Just the guests heaping praise on  Nikki  like she's achieved some magnificent milestone rather than just getting a year older.

In the loving arms of his wife, Dr. Marlena Evans, John took his last breath at the end of the June 2 episode, after suffering devastating internal injuries during a lab explosion. The iconic character went out as he lived — a hero. Sensing the fans’ devastation on Monday, Marlena’s portrayer Deidre Hall posted this simple-but-powerful message to fans on Instagram: “I know. I know. Hardest day ever.”

    • Now coming into June...well...   I knew it was coming but I didn't like the start to the next round of Dani/Bill/Hayley. As the 3 A plots from the start of the show (The SilkPress storyline and Martin's Secret being the other two), it needed to be benched for a while to develop those characters and allow other characters and storylines to grow. 3 months in, Hayley is the weak link, Dani is still divisive, but not boring, and Bill has been making his mark with some plots faster than others. So last week seeing the story starting to loop back around to them with Hayley's potential pregnancy, I honestly had mixed feelings.   I get it. The SilkPress storyline is currently in aftermath/next turn mode, so it has to be moved into a C plot position. Moreso if we want to keep the very talented Miss Trish around. And I love how clever the writers are being with the storyline. They give us enough in the episodes and are still playing out beats to keep the appetite fed. I don't feel like anyone is being dumbed down to keep her around. And Trish is giving nuances in her alone scenes with NuTed. I shouldn't care for a clear psycho, but she be selling it. That said...I wish they had given us a little more of the Martin's Secret storyline in the last week of the month though I loved the game of cat and mouse Bill did on Martin and Smitty to keep the storyline alive and active after it had a nice build beginning of May and vanished for a week mid-May. And it appears like it's about to go back to the backburner as an A plot which of course leaves the A plot of Dani/Bill/Hayley.   I am probably in the minority as someone who is not anti-Dani here and even she annoyed the heck out of me last week. In character true, but I just felt like there was a way to get all of that across without it feeling like...as I've said before...one step forward, two steps back...and have it feel organic. I liked Hayley got a little bit of edge with her, but she still ain't no match for Dani. And it reminds to be seen if we should be going back to that well of a story yet.   Now about today's show...   And I thought Tracy was bad! lol. But YES. Sharon has been worth the wait. And so has Anita's story! Finally having TT in the limelight. This has been a nice slow burn for me and a nice B plot. And the actress is good. The wig is giving. And her holding what Anita's secret is over her head and threatening to tell Vernon....Ooooo...that is what I was waiting for.    And speaking of bad...I thought Eva vs Kat was a great rivalry. But I am loving the rivalry that is growing with 'Nancy Drew' and Silk Press Sheila! They both get good licks in and are so cunning with each other. And I definitely have liked that since the anniversary party, that it has been growing. Now that Kat has been proven right, she has not backed down. And neither has SilkPress. And we got a 'Ms. B@tch' moment, too? LOVE. Eva coming up with a trump card was delicious and so 90s Sami Brady. GOOD. And the coda with Jacob and the expert...YES. The Silk Press storyline has been the best paced on the show so I love that the aftermath of the anniversary party continues to be so...barring one flaw...well for me. Not enough Nicole's POV.   And I like the C plots on display. And by that, I mean Chelsea with Vernon. And it made me wonder what the writers have plan for her love life now that the throuple is over with. I was watching her and going awww.   And of course the mystery man around Martin. I am starting to wonder if he really even works at the country club given how he made a run for it. That would be a twist.    Speaking of Martin...good to see him in scenes with his father and mother.    I'm getting used to NuTed.    I felt the last episode of May was a bit of a letdown, but this was a very nice recovery.
    • Unless they cut him, I'd think he would stay. Surely, he didn't choose to return because he expected high quality. I figure he gets to work when he wants and spend a lot of time doing his own thing and being with his family.
    • The writing for Liz and Lucky is indeed terrible, but if JJ signed a one-year contract he may be gone in a couple of months anyway. Perhaps they’re just cutting their losses.
    • That would be his older sister Stacey. She was the center of a big story back in the day. Nola was out to snag medical student Kelly Nelson, who she thought would provide her with the life she craved. He was in love with a girl named Morgan. Nola plotted to get pregnant by him, but couldn't manage to get him in bed. So she seduced Floyd, who thought she was in love with him. When she knew she was pregnant, she got Kelly drunk and made sure he woke up next to her in bed. Kelly believed her when she told him he made her pregnant. They were about to elope to Las Vegas, but her mother ratted her out and Kelly abandoned her. She almost married Floyd, but jilted him at the altar. She went to work for Quint. When the baby came prematurely, Kelly saved both of them. She named the baby Kelly Louise to irk Morgan, who was now married to Kelly. When she fell in love with Quint, she had a change of heart over all the trouble she had caused, so she changed the baby's name to Anastasia Louise, shortened to Stacey. Quint was a devoted stepfather and Henry treated her like his own granddaughter.  After Quint and Nola leave SF, I believe Stacey is never seen again. Which is odd, you would think they would have brought her back with Nola and J, but they never did.
