Updated July 30: Y&R is seeking to fill the role of Candace, an African-American woman in her 30s described as "a super-smart, confident, kick-ass executive with a background in science from Chicago." She's happy as a single woman, but not against finding a relationship. The contract role begins taping near the end of August.

 

 

 

Sounds like someone that could be for Nate or eventually Devon. This show does need more women, especially with the loss of Mishael and soon to be Eileen. It seems like the show has a lot of single men that don't have love interests. (Nate, Neil, Jack, Kyle...etc And also technically Devon, though he is grieving and needs to be single for a bit.)

 

They also need to cast someone like Arturo's mom or the Aunt he was talking about so that men like Neil/Jack can have someone to interact with/date. She can be like mid 40's to early 50s. And finally cast Arturo's younger sister Lola.

Lilly Melgar or Saundra Santiago or Florencia Lozano would be perfect as the mom/aunt

Wouldn't surprise me if Khalil auditioned.  She's been known to show up for interviews at her current job!

It's like they stepped right over Hillary's corpse and then put out this casting call.

Because they did.

We knew that the show would waste no time casting for Nate. With Mishael leaving, they don't have Hilary to fawn over him. So they need someone to tell us how sexy and desirable he is. 

 

But yes, @Khan, the show just stepped over her corpse. They are wasting no time. Hilary will be dead less than 2 months before her replacement arrives. This new character will probably suffer from the same poor writing that Hilary did. Already feeling sorry for the actress. 

It's not like she's gonna do much but be paired with Nate & Devon.
