Hopefully Olivia is alive and well.  Today Neil briefly mentioned her name when he told Hilary that Nate is her son.  Maybe when Nate interacts with Lily/Devon they will ask how Olivia is doing and we will find out that she's doing fine.

 

I think that Nate may be sad about something that happened in Boston. Today Neil mentioned that Nate is currently on a sabbatical. Hilary also ordered a dossier on him, to try and find out every thing she could about him. I wonder if something happened to somebody that Nate cared about in Boston (Maybe a a girlfriend? A child of his? Or a patient he got really close to) and he decided to take a sabbatical and get away. And in the mean time he will spend time with his family and treat Victor as a private patient.

Sad for Morgan but they cannot write for her.  She can go and I’m OK. Her witchy typical banging on the door today, and she’s supposedly pregnant yet apparently not thirsty but damned parched?  Pathetic. She can go. Way go.  She’s thirsty for the next hot black man.  Sorry but the way it’s written it’s true.  She’s a 15 year old petulant child.  I’m The Famous Hillary!  Whatever

At first, in the scenes with JT and his body, their scenes together were fun and had a spark.

 

Now? I agree with you — something is way off, and I don’t know what it is. Their scenes seem awkward and stilted. It’s also annoying and ridiculous that they meet in the most public places — the park, the coffee shop, and anywhere else where EVERYONE will see them.

Brooks Darnell made a REALLY impressive first appearance as Nate. Natural, effortless, genuine,  and he showed no nervousness at all. I thought he was great.

 

 I did cringe at the writing for Hilary in her scenes with Nate. How thirsty can a pregnant girl get? It’s always one step forward, THREE steps back with Hilary.

How ugly was the statue in the park?

 

This show looks like it has a budget of $1.98.Most of the sets are hideously and cheaply decorated.

 

Hilary came on like a blowtorch in the scenes with Nate. I agree Nate made a good impression. Why not have her subtly intrigued and just a little flirtatious?

Mind you compared to Devon... can't blame Hil for getting a little het up. But why  would he answer the door shirtless?

 

It's all too obvious.

 

Any chance of Nate/Hilary or Nate/Ashley are blown.Wonder what Plan B is?

 

So Tessa is Neil's assistant and works on GC Buzz/ Busy girl.

 

The social worker or whoever meeting Victor and Nikki at GCAC. The lack of sets available leads to this nonsense - and Nick is sitting across the room.

Victor and Nikki talk up how wonderful they are and the woman doesn't mention his jail time, her drinking and numerous other incidents.

I agree that it would have been better if Hilary had been more subtle in those scenes. She did calm down some at the very end. I thought they shared a nice moment when they smiled at each other after she described that his personality fit that of a surgeon.

 

I'm not sure what they will end up doing with Nate romantically. I feel like Hilary/Ashley were his best romantic choices. I don't think there are a lot of suitable choices left on the canvas for him. The thought of him with someone like Summer is cringeworthy. He's way too smart /mature for someone like that. And given his personality he shouldn't want to date someone like that.  I don't want him with Tessa (Who was also admiring him yesterday) or Mariah either. I like Abby but they are going with her and Arturo for right now.

 

Maybe they might try him and Victoria. Or put him with someone new. I think he can fly solo for a bit if he needs to do. While they sort out storylines after the departures they are about to have.

What an embarrassing 4th of July episode. All those wasted extras on the rooftop deck while Hilary hosted the most BORING GC Buzz in history.

 

The interviews had no energy and no life, and watching Tessa as her servant was pathetic. And GAG ME with the Tessa rendition of National Anthem. Was that supposed to be inspiring? Touching? No one would watch this crap on local access, let alone nationally. 

 

Hilary has to work, but Mariah has the day off? Ok, that makes sense...about as much as Devon not being there makes sense.

 

Arturo is almost never at work, yet he has a crew (two whole people) completing Jabot renovations on a holiday? Yeah, ok. Nothing about that setup looked real, especially when he told his workers, “Don’t you have work to do over there?”

 

Billy and Phyllis in the elevator. Again. How many times do we have to be put through this? I like Jason Thompson as an actor, but he’s no body beautiful, and the less he takes his clothes off the better. 

 

Abby and Arturo at least look hot together, although Melissa Ordway clearly watches a lot of porn, considering the way she threw that head back.

I was surprised at the number of extras ,way more than normal.

 

I still don't understand GC Buzz and neither do the writers I think.

 

A national show? Special guest the mayor of GC? I'm sure everyone would be glued to the screen for that one.

 

So it's live? In the ad break Hils went over to chat to Cane and Lily for way longer than any ad break would take.

 

With MM leaving maybe GC Buzz will be dropped.

The writing for Hilary is back down the tubes to facilitate Nate's entrance. I was going to watch until Mishael's exit but I've decided that I can't even sit through what was surely another crap nonsensical story for hilary and another Winters pairing that doesn't make sense. And no, after the last 5 years with Devon and her finally getting everything she wants, it makes zero sense she'd be chasing behind Nate. Why? Cause he's taller, darker, with better abs than devon? This exactly what they served us with  Jordan. Didn't make sense then, makes even less sense now since she's pregnant.  Goodbye Y&R. 

 

ETA: Nate is most assuredly Shauna's bio father. The plan was probably to eventually cast her mother with Hilary as spoiler (somehow, possibly not even romantic) for their love story.

Yes. That's classic soap. Which might be why we are getting all this cringey sex talk with them.

I’ve never enjoyed the incest innuendo plots on soaps. I think on Hollyoaks in the U.K. they actually had a character discover (to her horror) her parents were brother and sister (I didn’t watch to see if they undid it).
