Members Wendy
He was, naturally, best known from Soap, but has soap connections. He appeared on Santa Barbara, which I remember. IMDB says the character was named Maxwell Hammer. He also played a judge on GH. He had a long, varied career and was a great actor. May he RIP. Here's a write-up from Deadline. Members amybrickwallace
I wonder if his SB character name was supposed to pay homage to The Beatles - Maxwell Hammer.
Members Wendy
As a Beatles fan, I'm ashamed I never made the connection. Kudos! As for the answer? Maybe, since SB was quirky like that!

Members vetsoapfan
His very best soap work was as Jo's love interest, Sam Reynolds, on SFT. Mandan and Stuart had very strong chemistry.
Members SFK
RIP. I was thinking about him just yesterday when Three's a Crowd came on. He was easily the best thing about that show.
Members ChitHappens
He was easily the best thing about everything. A true talent and Chester Tate will always be my fave in a show with some truly great characters. The man became each character he needed to be! Hollywood was lucky to have him. 🙏🙏🙏
Members Khan
Agree, Chit. It's a crime that Mandan never received an Emmy for his work on "Soap." So many good actors worked on that show, but Mandan truly stood out.
Members amybrickwallace
I loved when Dutch married Eunice and would call Chester "Dad". Then Chester would start choking Dutch!!! We lost both Donnelly Rhodes and Robert Mandan this year. RIP.
Members SFK
Donnelly Rhodes and Robert Mandan had memorable Golden Girls episodes opposite Rue McClanahan.
