Of the current canvas, Victor, Nikki, Paul and Ashley are the only characters left that would have shared scenes with them during their original runs, correct? Oh and Lauren? And Jack too played by Terry Lester.

February 22, 20188 yr Member This is great news. I agree that it will likely just be a cameo, but it's good to see acknowledgment rather than continuing to pretend they never existed. Lorie, Leslie and Julia were all such fascinating characters who epitomized the blend of strength and fragility and ethereal mystery that Bill Bell conveyed with female characters in a way no other soap writer did. I'm also glad to know the last time we see Lorie and Julia will not be that awful ego trip for Eric Braeden back in 2003.
February 22, 20188 yr Member Sounds good! Y&R has never had any big splashy show anniversary episodes ever in the way other soaps like AW, Days, ATWT, GL etc. have done. Aside from 2008's Restless Style grand opening party with Danny singing, it's usually been big stories related to Y&R history as was done in 1993, 1998, 2003, and even in 2013. Had Bauer not decided to leave the show in 1982 I'm quite sure Bell would have found a way to continue to throw her into mix like he did Katherine and Jill into the rest of the '80s and '90s. The show should reach out to Barbara Crampton as well. Edited February 22, 20188 yr by soapfan770

He seemed very personally invested in Lorie and JL's Leslie so it does make you wonder what might have been. I don't think JLB regretted leaving (for herself, anyway - she regretted others losing their jobs) because she said it was taking a huge toll on her, but I think people have said Janice Lynde did come to regret it.

February 22, 20188 yr Member I just told my mom as soon as I saw Jamie Lyn Bauer listed. My mom loved her on YR. She's thrilled.

I can understand JLB's exhaustion but it's funny after she left it was more of an ensemble show which from her 1984 appearance she could have easily jumped right back into without being exhausted again. It's funny most Y&R's first generation tried jumping ship to be bigger stars elsewhere as opposed to where Y&R's second and third generations are famous enough just because everyone know they're on or were on Y&R. Lynde is a surprise though and unlike Espy, Houghton, Hasselhoff, Hall, and to some extent Stewart, Kerwin, and Leak she never had another successful daytime or prime-time role. The show had in 2014 had Tom Hallick return as a truck driver to escort GT's Phyllis into town, they should bring him back as Brad Eliot for a cameo and say he married Leslie. It would be a great touch. 44 minutes ago, DeeeDee said: Barbara Crampton should've been back & on contract YEARS ago. Why did she ever leave?
