According to Wikipedia.org, he is, although he may not be functioning in the legal capacity in this case.

If he's not acting in the capacity of an attorney, NBC can deny his presence, right?

Kelly was part of a push by Andrew Lack to get right wing voices out in the open on NBC and MSNBC. He was also pushing to replace most of the liberal shows on MSNBC with the likes of Hugh Hewitt, and supposedly resented that they were popular.

I'm just sorry that she's likely become a martyr, which is unearned.

Yeah, the real problem here is Andy Lack. He's a zealot who has never stopped trying to drag NBC/MSNBC to the right. In a just world this latest failure would cost him his job but it won't.

I've seen some people say that she may have deliberately tanked herself so she could walk away and still get her big payday ($69 million). I wouldn't be surprised.

Either way she is laughing all the way to the bank. I laugh at people ...well The Talk asking if she will rebound after this ......

He probably won't be needed for MK's issues anyway.

This was my thoughts exactly.  It sounds like the writing was on the wall and she had already met with NBC about the future of her show.  She makes these comments she has a whole group of people who will just love her more.

Nope. These comments make her radioactive anywhere but Fox.

She had allegedly hoped to continue with NBC News. This week made that impossible.

Fine.  Then ship her white, privileged ass back to Fox.  Back to the dung-heap of cable news.

Yeah, it'll cost NBC $69 million, but so what?  As Mama Khan always says, "a hard head makes a soft something else."

I can't believe NBC was dumb enough to offer her a contract worth $69 million

I can!  MK is a (bottled?) blonde, white girl, who was a highly profiled talking head on FNC, who clearly appeals to Trumpists, and who (let's face it) looks great in a skirt and sleeveless blouse.  I, myself, would have thought twice before giving someone like her airtime OR money, but I get why, in theory, they would offer her that kind of money.

However, as I've said before, the mistake was in believing she could siphon away Faux News viewers, or that NBC News could re-brand her as someone whom 18-34 females could tolerate.

It was an expensive lesson to learn, but God willing, they've learned it (...maybe).

It's where we are today.  What about Kelly did NBC think was worth canning 2 POC and paying her more than them combined?  What said "RATINGS BONANZA" when making the decision?  I'm not that familiar with Kelly so I'm looking to be educated here.

Because of Andy Lack, who heads NBC News. He's a known conservative and wanted to erase all of the left-leaning MSNBC shows and make that channel into Fox lite. (Hence hiring Megyn Kelly and Greta Van Susteren, among others.) Alas, Maddow, etc. bring in eyeballs, Van Susteren and the like didn't, and he couldn't. So he probably figured re-branding NBC itself would be a way to do that. Oops!

In my office, we have NBC on in the morning. I never paid attention to Megyn's show except in fits and starts.

-- Most of her guests tended to be low-level newsmakers and older actresses.

-- I swear, that one guy from American Ninja Warrior was on at least twice a week.

-- The best episode was from sometime last summer, when Peter Alexander, Jacob Soboroff and some other reporter/correspondent were modeling beachwear. That said, uh, credibility issue?
