Members danfling
This thread is for comments and questions about the various children who have appeared on the soap operas. Does anyone know anything about Matthew Anton (Tad Gardner Martin #1, All My Children) or Diane Dell (Amy Britton, The Secret Storm). Where are they, and what are they doing now?
Members amybrickwallace
Matthew Anton became a copywriter. Here's his wedding announcement from 2004, which mentions AMC: https://mobile.nytimes.com/2004/09/19/fashion/weddings/elisabeth-newton-matthew-anton.html?referer=https://www.google.com/ Here's his website, dedicated to his copywriting work: http://www.matthewanton.com/ Diane Dell actually played Lisa Britton, the daughter of Amy Ames Britton. I could not find any current information about her.
Members danfling
What became of Ellen Spenser, who played the daughter of Stuart and Marge on Search for Tomorrow?
Members danfling
Also, is anyone aware of what Scott Firestone is doing today after having played Wally Curtain on Another World?
Members danfling
Yesterday as I was watching the CBS Saturday show, I noticed that Glen Zachar's name was in the credits. (I think that he was credited as working on the audio.) Mr. Zachar appeared as a child actor on both Another World (as Michael Ranolph) and Somerset (as Skipper #2).
Members danfling
in my opinion, these three young men were the best three child actors in soap opera history: 1 Matthew Anton (Tad Garner Martin, All My Children) 2 Jason Alexander Fischer (Al Holden, One Life to Live) 3 Frankie Michaels (Tommy Hughes, As the World Turns)
Members danfling
I wonder what happened to Bobby Alford (the original Bob Hughes on As the World Turns)?
Members Bill Bauer
I'd be curious to know what happened to Natasha Ryan and what she looks like now. She wasn't just on Days but seemed to be everywhere in the 70s. I think she just disappeared. Update: Interesting. The only information I could find about Natasha was this weird bio. "Weird" because it reads like whoever wrote it was high at the time of its writing and seems to shift from first to third person with every other sentence. From what I can gather, she had a rough life. Homeless at 14? Kicked out by her foster parents (who probably pushed her into acting). Who knows what the real story is. http://snowtig.blogspot.com/2008/05/natasha-ryan-aka-ex-hope-as-child.html Edited June 7, 2020 by BillBauer

Members Bill Bauer
Thank you for that, Jam. That's more coherent but still a strange story. I wonder what really went down with her and her foster family. I know it's hard to judge by one photograph but she looks traumatized in the photo they used for the article. It's kind of sad. She was such a cute kid and it seemed like she was everywhere in the 70s. Maybe she just happened to appear on the shows and movies I watched and loved. I remember her in things like Days of Our Lives, Sybil and Kingdom of the Spiders. Which says a lot about the kind of kid I was.
Members jam6242
No, I agree. She was one of my favorites. I remember her in Mary Jane Harper Cried Last Night too.
Members amybrickwallace
Thanks to Retro TV, new generations of viewers have been introduced to 12 years' worth of talented juvenile performers on The Doctors. Jami Fields (Penny Davis), Eileen Kearney and Jennifer Houlton (Greta Powers, 1970-71 and 1971-1980, respectively), Mark Kearney, Bobby Hennessey and David Elliott (Billy Allison, 1970-71, 1971-72 and 1972-77, respectively), Keith Blanchard and Thor Fields (Erich Aldrich, 1973-77 and 1977-1980, respectively), to name a few, really held their own opposite the seasoned adult actors. It's been a real treat watching their work.
Members danfling
Ellen Kearney is on Facebook, and she has reported that one of her brothers (Michael or Mark, I cannot remember which one) has passed away. Another child performer who has been in the reruns of The Doctors is Donny Melvin. (He was also on The Guiding Light and The Secret Storm.) Both he and his sister were performers, and I would love to know what has happened to them (The sister, to my knowledge, never appeared on a soap opera.)
Members amybrickwallace
Mark Kearney passed in 1993 at age 36. Michael is still with us as of this writing, and is also active on FB. Fun fact - the Kearney siblings were the first cousins of the late John Spencer of L.A. Law and The West Wing. Their mothers were sisters. Michael Kearney and Donnie Melvin were two of the child actors who played Petey Dunbar on TSS.
Members danfling
I was watching a television special (on the Decades network) of old television commercials and celebrities who had appeared in them. There was an old Gain detergent from the 1960s with featured actress Jean Stapleton. Her son in the commercial was played a soap-opera child actor who has not been mentioned here: the late Shawn Campbell.
