I actually don't hate the show as much as others right now and still find it infinitely more watchable than GH. I usually catch up on the weekends and marathon it unless someone posts about something I need to see.

The only story I really don't care for is the human trafficking as there's literally only one character I like involved and that's Sharon and I guess to a lesser extent Nick.

LOL @Juliajms that's the truth.

I'm not 'hating' the show right now either but there's not really anything that's compelling me to watch.

I agree with antoyne that I like Sharon and Nick involved in the sex ring but I don't really care about the story or those involved. It is nice to see Alice and Tamara Clatterbuck again I suppose.

Agreed. Cane the last year has been how he should of been. But DG's whisper acting is beyond annoying and I don't like how he plays some scenes when he's supposed to show remorse. He's still not a great actor by any stretch of the imagination. But Cane could serve a purpose. Like others I always envisioned him as the new Brad. Eye candy with a so-so actor in the role. Lane was the worst thing to happen to both Cane and Lily, despite Goddard clinging to the fanbase.

The two things that I have to credit the outgoing writing regime is that they've given the Sharon character more balance than she's had in almost a decade and they brought Dina back to the canvas, which has given other characters like Ashley and Jack and even Abby another layer.

The business stories are flopping but they finally acknowledge that Y&R does benefit more from having them.  My gripe with the silly sheet mask idea being the panacea for BNS's woes is similar to the gripes I had about the Fenmore's story- a lack of specificity.

Remember, back in the day when Jabot raced to Japan to find that special plant that they could extract the botanical properties for one of their products?  That was specific. Now, in contrast, the business stories feel vague with only an abstract notion of what the actual products are about. I mean, what is so hype about the sheet masks that separate it from, say...the Say Yes to Tomatoes mask available at CVS?

The problem is that DG is ALWAYS allowing his personal feelings to affect his onscreen work. Not ONCE from the time since this whole Juliet debacle happened did I EVER believe Cane was even SLIGHTLY remorseful about his actions. The character (and the actor) are CONSTANTLY blaming everyone & everything else for their current predicament except themselves AND Y&R TOTALLY ALLOWS IT TO HAPPEN. Like Greg Rikaart & Kevin Goddard should've NEVER stayed beyond six months. I agree Y&R needs a new playboy but it would be MUCH better to have a new(er) character fill that role with a character that has SO much baggage played by an actor who is always focused on an agenda.

I was watching the 28:44 edit of All the Tour Llandview Openings from 1984-1991 (which I assume is most of the Rauch era). Any way, I could name 95% of the characters (or I knew what story they were a part of).  But, who's this? I attached the link, but be warned, that theme song is an earworm (here's where ya go when it looks like the rain won't).

    • I welled up, definitely. She got me with that one; it's only a shame these writers cannot bring this on a more consistent basis.
    • Let's Make a Deal, which followed AMC, went from 9.2 to 7.5 those weeks, so it happened to both shows.
    • When she showed Gio the picture of Lila and Edward and said these are your great-great grandparents I might have shed one single little tear.
    • Y & R has always been a day ahead in Canada (or was for years) so I don't mind if BTG is a day ahead in Canada as well.
    • She always does. She is aces. Top three actresses on this soap.
    • Blame: 90% Lois; 75% Lulu. Today I finally said, JANE ELLIOT Just go ahead & give her all the awards! She blew my mind. But, I still say that there is no one "bad guy" in this story. You can see so many people's points of view. What I like most about this gigantic umbrella storyline. I've been a daily watcher of soaps since the 1970s & this may be the best I've ever seen. I said same last week &  now I'm saying it again. In a way GH has had their foot on the gas since February sweeps, non-stop & I have a sneaking feeling they're not gonna put on the brakes until July sweeps.  What is left to reveal? Sex between Nina & Drew. Joss being WSB. Who killed Cyrus? Who killed Jagger? Who killed Austin? Is Sonny leaving the mob? Will Natalia be killed? Okay, I've just gone too far, back it up to "mob". So, show of hands, who here thinks Michael cut his treatment short? Sasha asked was he in pain? And he replied, Nothing I can't handle. So, he is & he did. That means Carly was right. I know people hate that.
    • Ugh. I genuinely hope not; I pray, somehow, CHCH-DT is told to provide a one-day pause. The last thing we need is a Y&R situation with this soap. I'm pretty sure Samantha is the older twin.
    • As usual, Jane Elliot stole the show. GM was good as Gio as were Rena, Dominic, and Amanda.   I also thought the actress that plays Emma was low key, but perfect at the same time-just listening and reacting.
    • I'm surprised it took me this long to get into RH. The soap is so damn good, I am just as obsessed with the Ryan's as Delia. The Ryans are a great family unit and seem like good people. I wish I had a family like that. This show has so many parallels to BTG. Frank's mystery is very similar to Martin's. Both are my favorites on each show. adding more thoughts soon once I get a consistent watch going.
