Finally someone who gets me!

Looks like it, despite her acting, lack of charisma and purpose she's here to stay.

I wish GH would do a new one. It's so cheap and lazy. I mean at least they eventually update who's on there, if you're fast enough to catch it or pause it. You can never even really see who's on the right hand side. Anywho, that rant over ....

LOVE the new opening! Class all the way. However the font for the cast names? TRAGIC. I could do that on my own computer. It makes it look fan made.

Davidson's pose is everything

And I wouldn't read into the credits. Someone could be added and then fired a week later. One doesn't really equal the other. And at this point, they're better off trying to make Abby work rather than recast yet again.

They've tried to make Abby work for 3 years now. I lIke MO as a person but her Abby will never be more than supporting. And that's more than fine too.

The problem with openings like this is that the next time they add a new cast member the lighting and camera quality will not match. See ATWT's opening from the early 2000s, if you weren't a part of the original photo shoot your shots look like crap.

Yep. I know. It's unfortunate that a character like Abby will never be more than supporting. This is the future lead of your show. Sigh. Oh well. But I don't know that recasting would work either. You could probably find an actress to knock it out of the park but is the writing for Abby even there. Would it matter? They aren't even bothering with her. Poor actress or not.

LOL so true

so true, all of it. I can't believe a show that has YOUNG in the title has bungled their younger generation so horribly.

Love the new opening. Classy and elegant.

Cast members look great, and so are the lighting and editing, regardless what some posters are saying. I'm especially glad the open wasn't cut to 15 or 20 seconds, which I feared.

AW's last opening was BAD for that. The new cast additions after RKK all being shot on videotape was so JARRING when the rest were on film stock. And by the end they just kept clipping the intro shorter and shorter because they knew it looked bad. Shameful.

Personally, I like the new intro, but agree, it looks a bit too college-student-fan-used-Final Cut-for-his-end-of-year-project for me. And keeping Michelle Stafford's headless body shot was kinda pointless, but...*shrug*, it's still miles better than any intro they've had since the late 90s (hated the 1999 p*rn intro as well).

too modern. I kind of wish they had kept a black/white filter. The visuals just dont match the classic audio

One thing I noticed that at least based off that one, it had tons of vets. And yes even CKLily is a vet at this point. Y&R has a sense of familiarity with its actors

It looks cheap. But then again, Y&R has been looking cheap for a few years now (Thank you, JFP -.-), and unfortunately Mal doesn't know how to do elegance/glamour.

Agreed. Headless Woman Walking, as we probably all know, is Michelle Stafford back when the producers thought she was the end-all and be-all of the show. Since she was excised from Y&R in less-than-amicable circumstances (after she threw a tantrum over screen partners and JFP), they should have nixed these 3 seconds from the opening and just shown the YR paint stroke being drawn in.

Love the background paint effects, though, and while the lighting may not be fabulous, I think these shots are MILES better than the boring ABC ones JFP had done. I will never get over the way JFP tried to generify Y&R into some sub-ABC bland mess.

    • I don't know.  The animosity seems to be more recent than the mid 80s.  When Maggie was a victim of the Salem Stalker i remember reading an interview with Suzanne where she said they aired the episode(s) surrounding Maggie death in a theatre and made a big deal about it.  Suzanne was very upset about being fired and Dee comforted her and said that they were making such a big deal about it because it was Suzanne/Maggie.  I cannot find the article but I will keep trying. That said Suzanne's comments on Soapy about how some of the female cast members treated her during her illness was disappointing to hear to say the least.
    • Anyway... Kristen should have a prison lesbian story arc. And then come out and become obsessed with Marlena so we can move her on from the Brady nonsense. Is that secret room still in the DiMera mansion?
    • Oh, wow... where can I find this interview?
    • I'm really liking Izaiah and Eva so far. And why can't I help but feel that something might happen to make Jessica stay in Fairmont Crest permanently?
    • So Pam didn't create her? I thought she had the whole of 87-88. I'll look around, thanks for the point in the right direction.

date: Tuesday, November 18, 2025 | Jamey Giddens, Danielle Paige | Steven Williford Samantha, accept the fact you were in the wrong and do not deserve your digital devices. Do not like it? Go upstairs. Read a book. Do some knitting. Bradley and Martin's "we get it" to Tyrell was hilarious and absolutely a parent's thing to do. Loving a bit of history of both the Duprees (via Eva) and the Hawthrones (via Izaiah). So cute. Poor June. I am sure she did not purposefully mean to mess up; we have all been there working in customer service. Shake it off and keep on keeping on! Not twice a week for Vernon's cobbler order... Sharon must be using that as payment for their meetings. I appreciate that Ted still cares about the Duprees despite the end of his marriage to Nicole. Not Dana using Peaches' crisis as a way of taking Ted's attention away from a co-worker. Girl, do not be so obvious. Bradley is a man after my own heart with a simply divine chocolate milkshake. That is the way to go. Dana really needs to dial it back. Money will not buy her everything she wants and she will realise it soon enough. And I doubt Shanice is scared off by her idle threats, either. "With all due respect, Ms Thomas, this isn't a shopping mall." Oh, Dr Wilkes just owned Dana's arrogant ass. I love it. Wigs and personas? Okay now, Shanice ate with that read. I like that June assured Bradley that she will not replace him or Martin in the twins' lives. And that blood does not make a parent. Words never rang more true. Jessica reading Samantha was amazing. Dana would want to involve Ted. Her obsession is crossing beyond dangerous boundaries. Not Dana catching Vernon leaving Sharon's room at the country club. That is not good. Not good at all! Notes: Ugh. Not another breakdown from writer2. This week was going so well. Thankfully, Paige is an outstanding scriptwriter (one of this soap's best), and her words today are excellent. The food at Orphey Gene's does look bomb, so I do not blame any of the characters for uptalking it. I would eat there daily if I could. And gain hundreds of pounds, too. David Lami Friebe (Izaiah) continues to make me sick watching him, but he is nice to listen to. I still really like having June as the central person hub at Orphey Gene's. That familiar face you see when you walk in and have scenes. Dana wanting a second opinion means we could have an incoming doctor, right...?

    • I am sure "no one cares" and it's not a big deal to some people, but this thread is full of certain posters calling out women's ages, their viability to have children at like 35, and their nail polish, but we celebrate everything Chandler Massey does and applaud any male shirtless scenes.  And then posters walk back being like it's just a joke and weren't serious lol.
