I can't stand Gloria either. I've never liked her. JVA was in the role such a short time that it could have been a better character had she stayed.

Following on my complaint upon reading the synopsis for Tuesday (US), I decide to see if the executive was as awful as it sounded. For the first time since pre-Pratt, I actually stopped the DVR and deleted the episode as soon as Gloria started trashing Fenmores in the steamroom. The Nick/Noah scenes made no sense and Faith and Victor playing chess to classical music? Ugh. Chloe in a trenchcoat at a police station? EH looks great, but seriously seeing Kevin and Chloe rolling around was icky.

Sorry, but for a show with as many rich and long-standing characters, actors and history, there is zero excuse for this level of boredom. NONE. Trying to slow-burn Villy only to undo it when Bella's paternity is revealed doesn't work. A suddenly single and free Phyllis - looking as hot as ever - has ZERO male prospects? How about a hot hook-up with the investor from Chicago in the steamroom to kick-off her new outlook on life? Ugh. I'm so disappointed.

The only way these Gloria shenanigans can payoff is if Lauren (not Michael, not Kevin, not Phyllis) discovers that Gloria sabotaged her negotiations and a confrontation ensues where Lauren reads the hell out of Gloria and personally tells her mother-in-law to stay the hell out of her business and warns her of the consequences of meddling ever again.

As a result, if Gloria truly gets 'the boot' from the Fenmores storyline, then I can see there being some rationale to all of this scenery chewing.

Lauren needs agency in her own storyline and grabbing the onus away from Gloria and putting her foot down with everyone else and becoming the real Boss Lady could help finally establishing Lauren as the focus of this story.

Having *itch Lauren show herself might be a start.

Its terrible how wasted Gina Tognoni is on the show. I think her contract is up this year. She deserves much better then this crap. SallUGH is the worst hack i think i have ever seen in omy life.

An example of Gina having amazing material written by Jean Passanante and Shelly Altman. SallUGH should take note.

Ugh....why did SS think we'd want to see Gloria again??

Is her stay long term or short term? I thought it was short term? I know someone posted her return on the spoiler thread.

    • Wow, do I agree with you. Chelsea is coming off as ridiculous. All she does is look for a woman to date while not caring about her business at all. That she's bi is great, but they're not writing her like she's bi. She seems to be lesbian. Yeah, I know -- "no labels." I just don't find the writing for her story to be anything other than awkward.   -- I hope we get some diagnosis finality with Bill's trip to the hospital. I don't want to see these trips to the ER every other day. -- Naomi is going to blame herself for Bill's health problems? GMAB. -- Ashley doesn't read as a real nurse in the slightest. -- Another day, another rinse and repeat conversation with Derek and Ashley. YAWN. -- Kat is making mistakes, but she's fun to watch and listen to, regardless. -- I still think the Joey/Vanessa/Doug gambling story sucks. I know Doug is deeply in debt, but I don't like him acting this meek and submissive.  -- I'm not sure what Joey's plan was from the beginning, or why he had to seduce Vanessa at all to get his way. I'm not sure what Vanessa ever saw in Joey -- why doesn't he give her the ick? -- I'm fine with a story where Doug and Vanessa take out Joey.  -- The fades to commercials were pretty bad today.
    •   Victoria's house (that she long ago lived in with Billy) burned down (I think Aunt Jordan set ablaze?). Mariah and Tessa and baby Aria had been living in the tack house but they bought a house we've never seen and moved there. Victoria, Claire, and Cole now live in the tack house.
    • Victoria’s previous house burned down.    And I know why characters frequent Crimson Lights 3 times a day for brownies, muffins and empty mugs:   THERE’S PCP IN EVERYTHING.
    • Today was a good episode, and the week for that matter. I think they've also done a better job with background music. The scenes in todays episode weren't as silent as they usually are in the background and it was noticeable. I think the show has found its groove well and I'm still invested.
    • Garneau was in the Liberal party and his riding was in Montreal. He was the first Canadian in outer space.
    • I agree. I really have enjoyed this story from the beginning. I feel like it needed the time for us to care about Doug. They've done a nice job of explaining his motives and making me care for him. I still feel like he's doomed and Vanessa will end up being a widow and now I'm invested in that *not* happening now that I've fallen for him. Friday was good but so was the entire week. I think they're doing such a nice job of keeping things moving. We got good movement with Bill's story this week, Chelsea is attempting to date, Andre and Dani are having tough conversations about their relationship, of course Anita reunited with Sharon. There is *so* much going on and I didn't even cover all of it.  I wish all of the soaps would take a page out of BTG book and start rotating their stories. I love that everybody is getting a chance to shine and they don't just sit on one lead story to the point you get sick of it.
    • Did Jordan Clarke have a departure sometime between 1985 and 1989? I know Robert Newman had three runs: 1981-1984, 1986-1991, 1993-end.
    • Well, they usually weren't on the show at the time for long until the late 90's. But yeah, they really deserved a story centered on them, and not through the lens of Reva.
    • Chelsea was doing the absolute most today! Why was she introducing her sister to a woman she doesnt know? That whole scene was embarrassing. Madison needs to stay away from her bc she is too immature
    • Gosh, what a waste with Lunacy. Why have her live with $B, reveal Finn, pardon her, etc What makes this story incredibly hollow is that what Luna is asking isn't unreasonable - to spend time with her cousin father. She's not asking to move in with them. How hard with it be for Finn to throw her a bone by, say, I'll meet you for lunch/coffee once at week at the hospital cafeteria. Lunacy isn't going to hurt Finn. In fact, all her crimes were related to finding her father and it turns out to be someone she's loved her entire life. Instead of course-correcting the nonsense of last summer, Brad somehow found a way to make this worse! That's a skill... Of all the younger actors B&B has cast during the past 5 years, LY has shown the most growth and range. Why get rid of her?
