I actually found Phillip/Belle/Shawn to be one of the brighter spots this past year, or at least once Chloe returned and got wrapped up with Phillip. But everything has been a missed opportunity, so any potential is eventually squandered. Ditto to Nicole/Deimos. I wouldn't call them the worst on DAYS when there's so many worse couples to choose from.

Soap Opera Weekly ceased in January 2012, I believe, right after One Life to Live left the airwaves. No final farewell issue, it just ended.

They predicted SOD would fold in 2012 too, but here we are 4 years later! BTW, Carolyn Hinsey recently *returned* to the mag to do her Opinion column. She left a couple years ago.

I used to love seeing the yearly Best & Worst issue back in the 90's when their opinion mattered.

Yep. Rick and Maya are both wasted. Maya who? Such a joke. I also think Caroline's being absolutely wasted now as well. They've all been ruined by baby rabies.

I agree that Kristoff and Eileen were wasted.

And how was Michael "ruined" on GH? That would require him to get airtime.

YES! Many years ago, there were so many informative, intelligent, and entertaining magazines devoted to the soaps. My favorites were Daily TV Serials, Afternoon TV, Daytime TV, and Rona Barrett's Daytimers. I would eagerly await each new issue, and make sure to get to our local magazine store at least two or three times a week to see what issues were out. Even in blizzard-like conditions, I would make my way to the store, come hell or high water! When SOD and SOW came along, I happily added them to my list of must-buy publications.

I would KILL to have all those vintage issues in my possession again, but alas, I had to get rid of most of them when I moved from my house to a much smaller apartment. I had to make some tough choices about what I could keep, and what had to go. Looking back on it now, I should have dumped a lot of my books (which are available in any library for free, anyway), and kept all my soap mags!

Thanks for the information. Before it died, SOW was a feeble ghost of its former self, so I do not miss it, and as far as I am concerned, Kinsey should have stayed gone. I would rather read commentary from many of this board's posters, than her sorry-ass opinions.

Best show?  Is this a joke?  If there is a best couple, worst couple, most overdone couple, most We're tired of it couple....Quinn and Wyatt.  Most rejuvenated character????  Name him the character who is the most manipulated and who also hopefully dies.  I'm so glad I won't see that magazine in my grocery store.  Ah the days before the Internet when you bought the magazine and the news was a month old and so were the ratings.  Now we know differently.

    • I'm surprised it took me this long to get into RH. The soap is so damn good, I am just as obsessed with the Ryan's as Delia. The Ryans are a great family unit and seem like good people. I wish I had a family like that. This show has so many parallels to BTG. Frank's mystery is very similar to Martin's. Both are my favorites on each show. adding more thoughts soon once I get a consistent watch going.
    • I also get why Gio feels his life was a lie. I get everyone's emotions are high now That's why I think Monica passing will be the catalyst that starts to the healing process for Gio, BLQ, Lois, Tracy, Ned, Olivia and Dante
    • Judging by the fact that I was able to watch two episodes today, looks like Canada being a day ahead might be permanent.
    • Agreed! I normally don't rate Amanda Setton that highly as an actress, but she knocked those scenes out of the park. Between this and the Michael storyline, I think we're in for a week of juicy drama. I heard everyone talking about how dull Rory Gibson was on Y&R, but I thought he was pretty good today playing a steelier version of Michael. And I loved Wiley's little "Bye mommy!" moment. The writers clearly know how much most of us hate Willow if they're tossing out little nuggets of schadenfreude like that one.
    • Slower day, but not bad. I thought Tomas was at his personal best today, flirting with Kat at Uptown.  Hayley is pregnant!  Oh boy... Samantha felt more like the babysitter today vs. the young sister. I'm ready to meet Sharon. I want a strong dynamic so it's not a repeat of what we just saw with Tracy's reunion.
    • They've been on same day for three episodes, which is a good thing because the days flowed weird to me before.
    • I see both Lois and BLQs sides re Gio BLQ wanted her son to be happy. Lois wanted to make sure it happened, so she gave him to family. Selfish?  Yes, but I get it Gio was raised by a loving mother and extended family. Lois followed BLQ wishes Great acting by AS & RS

date: Tuesday, May 27 | Christopher Dunn, Lynn Martin | Steven Williford I feel bad for Chelsea; she's exploring her feelings, and they're getting [unintentionally] hurt. But I love the support that Katherine has for her cousin. Bradley, you deserve one hundred times better than Deadbeat. So much more. Anita essentially tossing Tracy out... whew. She's done. DONE. Ouch... Chelsea hit the nerve with Katherine. How interesting... I feel like Tracy is becoming the mirror Anita has been avoiding while being a Dupree. What are these top secret things she's harbouring? I really hope Jessica's interest in Tyrell is genuine, because if it isn't, it might just destroy him. Back alley meetings? Your family? As if Bradley is not part of your family... Deadbeat, sit your ass down. Hey, Childbride, lower your damn voice. You're in the country club, not the country field where your ass belongs. And oh God, she's knocked up. Whew... here we go! Dante Greene, what control did this man have? But I appreciate that Anita and Tracy are uniting together; I pray that Sharon joins them soon. I love how easy Katherine and Tomas are with each other; it's smooth, it's natural and it's blooming in all the right ways. Hayley is about to battle the Dupree women for all she's worth. I am calling it right now. The unwavering support Vernon continues to provide to Anita is paramount; I adore them as the couple they are. Notes: Mike Manning (Bradley) continues to show up time and time again in scenes with Brandon Claybon (Deadbeat), who brings nothing to the table. There is an extreme lack of romantic chemistry between them. I'm wondering how different Dante Greene is going to be in comparison to Berry Gordy Jnr; we know the true history of Diana Ross and the Supremes, but how different will it be with Anita Williams and the Articulettes?
    • This episode is beyond excellent Could have waited on tge Trina Kai scenes  but regardless  great soap
    • Haha same! I didn't like her in the beginning, but over time, I've really grown to love to hate her as a villain.  I can't wait to listen to today's new episode later tonight! I've been waiting for the mom and dad (Crystal/Vincent) to have an interaction, so I'm happy to hear it's today.
