Called it!!.....sort of....got the timing wrong.  LOL   I hope he fixes the background music right away by bringing back Jack Allocco and David Kurtz.   Looking forward to see what he does with the production.

It definitely wasn't a good sign for JFP when the CBS Daytime exec spoke out against the Chancellor Mansion set change.  You never see an exec bash a current EP like that.

And hopefully this is the end for JFP working in daytime.  I hope she retires.

Ok, i thought it was Valentini. But also believed since Young was brought in that he would replace Phelps.  I find it hard to believe that Sony/Kent didn't tell Phelps in January that Young was her replacement.  He's got an extensive soap pedigree so it seemed obvious he was being groomed.

Sussman may be an option for writer but I tend to think Young may finally promote Slater/Esser with him driving story since YR has a history of giving headwriting/ep duties to the same person.  Mal has experience doing both.  Wouldn't it be great if Esser/Minardi were finally given story authority?

That was an impressive time. That range is a large portion of my era with EE as per its time on PBS syndication.

I used to want Brits to come in and take on OLTL as well, back when Daran Little(?) was supposedly shadowing AMC. Still would've liked that.

He was Controller of BBC Drama, overseeing EastEnders along with other shows/dramas. The EP's during that time who oversaw the day to day were Matthew Robinson, John Yorke, and Louise Berridge.

His creative EP credentials are probably most associated with Brookside.

The word "vet" was a dead giveaway that it wasn't Frank.  You also have to consider that ABC has no interest in GH thus no need for it to improve.  GH is not long for this world.  When you can cancel as many prime time shows at once like ABC did last month, there's no way trash like GH has any hope!

    • Another great episode.  GH has been pretty good this year, loading up the chamber, because now there's many bullets to fire, and another one was fired today when Nina found out Michael is the father of Sasha's baby.  I hope this secret comes out at the hearing.  I've also liked the slow burn with Gio/Emma. There's just so many things to look forward to on this show now.  GH is finally back to being really good.
    • I'm all for it. Get them Nina!

    • I am blown away that Christie Clark is 51, and she debuted 39 years ago. They gave her a lovely script today.  But, I could not think of any other examples in culture of someone able to jump right back into the skin of a character, after virtually retiring from acting years ago. I was trying to recall if Carrie left for a bit with Anna after Roman died (because she wasn't at Bo & Hope's wedding), and then returned as a pre-teen Christie?  Or if she was just SORASed off-screen?  But, whenever I see the character I am reminded how much more trauma she's endured than Sami, and yet she remains such a nice person.
    • Weirdly I feel like Nina was the most sus about the entire situation.  Normally I would have given this one to Carly, but Nina was always kind of trying to make it make sense. I think Nina (and Alexis) are actually really smart characters.  They just constantly get in their own way with dumb plans lol.
    • Rewatching some of 1991 I had to appreciate what a strong week March 5-12 1991 was. Cassandra dies, Nina shoots David, Sheila switces the babies, and drunk Nikki all occurring simultaneously. 1991 and 92 were pretty strong overall.
    • Still loving all the Gio fallout, but the scenes that really surprised me this episode were the ones with Nina and Maxie. I was not expecting Nina to be the one to put together all the pieces about Sasha's baby daddy. This custody hearing is about to get explosive!
    • I really hope after the secret comes out their interactions don't stop
    • BAHAHA  I needed that laugh today. Talk about one note.  I would put Derek and Ashley a notch above Dani. Dani's scenes are basically rinse, lather, and repeat for 60 episodes and counting.  It's as if she was transported from the soap opera Passions onto this soap.  MVJ should put aside her friendship/admiration for Karla and look at the fact that this character isn't wroking as written.
    • Agreed.  It doesn't feel in character at all.
    • You could always tell whenever Douglas Marland enjoyed writing for a particular actor, because he'd pull out all the stops for them; and Julianne Moore was no exception.
