Frank must need the money to pay Michael Easton

But Herbst has been crapped on at GH for a long time now. I'd love her on DAYS, love her on my show, but they'd waste her just like they wasted Sarah Brown, Chrishell Stause, Melissa Archer, Kassie DePaiva ....

She got fired but she's still a nurse and its not like she cant be written back there. I mean international terrorist Obrecht is the Chief of Staff for heavens sake!

which is the problem most of the young newbies on Days have and subsequently dont work. I dont know why but it seems to be a recurring problem regardless of the writing team

Here's what I said on another soap forum about this, so I'll just copy and paste here:

Honestly, unless it was one of the Bell soaps, with this impasse in mind, I predict Becky will either re-sign with GH, or retire from acting completely. She's been a full time working mom her entire kids' lives, and while her oldest kids are almost 15 and 12 (see, Show? Becky has teenaged kids, Liz can handle one, too!), her youngest son is five and a half. I'm sure she would love to be home with him in a way she may not have always been with her oldest kids when they were little. And not only that, no matter how great we all think she looks, she'll still be 39 in May, and while it's definitely unfair, it's not like Hollywood is likely to give her a chance, and GH is literally the only acting job she's had since she started in 1997, save for one TV movie she did about a year after she joined the show. Before that, she'd been acting since she was a child, and also competed in figure skating, too. I'm sure GH coming along gave her some relief and stability, especially once she had her kids. So...yeah, if things don't work out here, and the DAYS thing isn't true/the Bells don't call her up with anything, I think Becky is probably done with acting permanently.

I guess agree to disagree on this but she looks too old to be Abby. Now if she was Cassie, Stephanie,  Sarah Horton or even Chelsea I could see that

As for the Adam Comparison. Hartley is only 19 months younger than Muhney and both are older then Chris Egen

Mansi is 10 years younger than Herbst & imho it shows

I don't think she is because Jennifer doesn't look 60.  Now we are saying Abby is 20 years older than JJ?  She looks closer to playing JJ's mother than sister.   DOOL ages crazy so anything is possible but it doesn't look to me like appropriate casting.   With the casting of MM as Belle, perhaps they can make all the 25 year olds 40 I guess.

    • Yeah I saw it and it's still idiotic. I like the Pope, but it's not interrupt shows newsworthy
    • As someone who was watching OLTL at the time, Dano did excellent work, but the writing was weird. Dano even got Emmy nominated for what she did. However, it did feel that the writers did not know what to do with her, but to be fair, it did feel like a lot of that was that the character was a network mandate and the writers were making it up as they were going on. I didn't watch Dano's trek around all the soaps. That kind of thing would have worked better with an ABC performer not someone who had been off OLTL for decades. I can't imagine AW without Felicia Gallant. I really don't want to because she provided so much joy for me when there was so much disappointment on that show. The only time I thought her character didn't work was the John/Felicia storyline but it got Anna Holbrook an Emmy so I can't complain all that much. It's just another example of drama at the expense of character.
    • Bringing this over from the soccer/soaps ratings thread yesterday:  Errol said: "CBS put out a notice that it could preempt at a moment's notice as the Pope selection continues, dependent on how long it takes, of course." New pope just chosen, name to be announced soon. Yeah CBS-NewYork channel 2 is airing Pope coverage instead of Y&R right now.
    • @brisbydog - I like that you have a signature font, très chic Abe and Paulina's new apartment was the first thing I noticed.  I don't understand why people over a certain age in Salem automatically move into a condo? When it seems just as simple to make the set seem like a detached home.  But, I will give points to attention to detail of choosing colors that compliment the Black actors in the scene. Which then led to the second thing I noticed.  Why would EJ want Kayla's office, when his is 3xs the size?  Also, even if he buys the hospital, won't Kayla get to keep her office? Lastly, can we at least give Cat the agency to decide on her own with whom she wishes to date?  Do men actually need to negotiate on her behalf?  She's stunning.  My advice would be if Chad is friend-zoning her after a year together, move on to his richer brother.
    • OH!!! I love it. I can't believe I missed that. In one of the 2 fan events held the 2 years after the sorry end of our lovely show, both  Anna Stuart & Stephen Schnetzer attended & I got to talk to each of them. Obviously I was in heaven. Although at least I didn't do my shy star struck thing.
    • We probably won't get any of our CBS soaps today cause of the Pope stuff, cause you know they have to air it on regular network despite having 24/7 news channels

    • I still don't know when/how did Iris find out about Evan's connection to Janice?
    • lol Cass and Donna went on a bowling date!
    • As well as insulting our host, being rude to some of the nicest members who correct you, and having an inflated sense of duty. While others may be able to add numerous offenses, the egocentrism to force any conversation off-topic to focus on you is the most egregious act for me.  This is light entertainment, an interactive discussion, not the shallotpeel-hour.
    • Yes, that is why. I mean, not last minute but it was not what Shapiro originally wanted. First, she tried to buy the show. Then she tried to buy the character. Meanwhile several other companies also tried to buy the show.
