The Horton stuff was on point. The melancholy was on point. Hope and the kids. Lucas and Maggie. [Sami is rude for keeping one of her 12 kids from Lucas like this]. Doug's greeting to his kin. His and Hope's speeches. While I've been on Team Go Live with Your Aunt Off-Screen Chase ... that segment where he got his ornament definitely gave me the feels and some light flashed into my Grinch heart.

The Hortons are really cursed and/or are having an exceptionally bad year AKA front-burner, I guess. Nice touch of having Marlena want to make it over so badly. I'm not entirely sure Marlena was not just trying to drum up psychiatric business by attending though ;)

Victor looked uncomfortable at this event except for when he was talking goon shop and hanging his ball.

So, I thought people were joking when they were commenting about John and Eduardo going to assassin school as kids. I should have known better.

I agree with most of you. I would have added flashbacks and kicked at minimum Eduardo/Kate off this episode.

The surest way to get the show cancelled:  have an episode entirely focused on Eduardo, Ciara, Joey, Lanie and Theo. WOW...I've never seen a collection of horrific "actors" on a soap since I don't know when!

A Martinez is just awful; his scenes with Drake H were beyond the pale bad. He's even worse than Drake if that's possible.

I wonder if Dena is gone; she may have only come back for less than a year to write the anniversary shows.

So iinteresting how good acting is subjective. The ones you mentioned (minus Sal Stowers) are actually quite good IMO.

It's not subjective; these are the worst actors to come along ANY soap in years.  All who I mentioned are horrendously bad

To be fair Galen Gering is just as bad as them and has been on soaps for 16 years.

DAYS will always do the best Christmas episodes and they have the best tradition.  No other soap can reach as far back, and have as many familiar faces.  When DAYS does "family" it feels like a real family.  The Newmans, the Abbotts, the Quartermaines, the Forresters, they got nothing on the Hortons and Bradys.

This year's Christmas episode was okay.. Not the best, but not the worst. Thankful Orange-glow wasn't there. And are they going to read the Christmas story this year?! I love that tradition too and it's been a tradition since 1983. If they don't read the Christmas story this year it will be the first Christmas since 1995 without reading the Christmas story! C'mon writers!!

This Christmas episode was automatically better than last year's which ended with this

That's because those shows gave up on making any of those families feel like a family many years ago. DAYS at least still tries.

Yeah, this was a pretty depressing episode. I guess that was bound to be the case given the loss of Will and Bo, but I didn't need sad sack Abby added to the list. Chase getting his ornament was nice though. I love Hope for not just tossing him to the curb.

Actually, it is subjective, because that is YOUR opinion. Which is fine. We all see things differently.

I was looking at some past Christmas at the Horton house clips and I totally forgot about this one, the "9/11" Christmas. The Christmas Eve episode where the actors only played their characters in the last segment. I will say that NB/KL chit all over these new youngsters voices.

This. Agreed. They're terrible.

People may disagree with me but I still hate that Daniel, Melanie, Parker and now Victor have Horton ornaments. They are NOT Hortons! Maggie will always be an honorary Horton but her expanding family after her marriage to Micky shouldnt count IMO

Thanks!  There are bad actors and there are good. This group is very bad, particularly when they share episodes and scenes  Giovianni couldn't even be convincing saying hello to Doug or giving Chase his ornament.  That's bad.

Damn near everyone on this show has a Horton ornament. They aren't special anymore.

Not that I am fan of Daniel or of him having an ornament, but where was he yesterday to hang his and his children ornaments. They could have broke out Nicole's Ornament, when she was married to Lucas, for her to hang. #Days50
