I know. It's tired. Every article about Fuller House and it's renewal automatically goes to the Olsen twins. I don't miss them in the slightest and I like the show as it is. I couldn't care less if they ever appear. I wish one would though so everyone can shut up about it. It's sad that all the critics and 'reporters' have to write about is the Olsen's (who NO ONE expected they would do it) and how awful the original show was and how awful this one is. It's really not as awful as they make it out to be. I actually find Fuller House less cheesy and bad than Full House, which was 80s/90s kind of special.

IA, KMan, one of the Olsen twins needs to make an appearance, at least, just so the media can move on.

I'm not surprised FH has been renewed.  Personally, the original series never was my cup of tea -- and I doubt I will make time for the new series either (the hotness of Steve and the Katsopolis twins be damned).  However, so many out there were so ecstatic to hear about the revival, I just knew the results would score with Netflix subscribers, regardless of my personal feelings about the two shows' qualities.

Besides, maybe FH's success might encourage Netflix to revive OTHER beloved shows from the past...like, say, "Cheers" (hint, hint, lol)?

I mean, horrific? No. There's maybe two jokes in there in 13 episodes, it's not exactly a vicious dragfest. They're not burning them in effigy and pissing on their graves.

And of course the media focused in on the Olsen twins and made every single article about them over and over before the thing came out - they were the breakout stars. That's what media, especially online media driven by traffic, does. But it didn't end up being the center of the show's narrative upon release. It's just an unavoidable thing the media is always going to go back to or bring up until such time as one of the twins appears.

I do think it ended up being the center for months, as John Stamos couldn't stop talking about it. It stopped in the last month or so when they were doing PR for the show on various talk shows and interviews, but even then the show wanted to make it a focus with the pilot having the big joke. They're lucky that people weren't turned off by it because for ages it was just known as that sitcom Mary Kate and Ashley won't be on. At one point people were even trying to make their sister come on the show instead.

Anyway, this is a good interview with Andrea Barber:

Horrific, yes. The amount of jokes is irrelevant, nobody said it's a vicious dragfest, or that they're burning them in effigy and pissing on their graves.

But are they pissed the twins turned them down? You bet your ass.

Then there's wonderful little jokes like this one, which comedic genius John Stamos came up with, that somebody, somewhere had the great idea to cut.

Exactly. It was almost as important as everything else about the show combined. It's all done now, and people are going to defend their nostalgia with everything they've got (which is understandable), but the show was just as preoccupied with them as the media.

If anything, those who are defending it so staunchly are the ones taking it too seriously and trying too hard to justify it all. I get that you disagree. I get that. Please don't try to start anything personal. You really couldn't be further off the mark. Overall, it's been fun watching the progress of the show and I'm not sure why someone like you would make that mistake, unless you're just throwing something out there in order to counter what I said.

I'm not trying to throw anything out anywhere, I just disagree with you. I don't think it was a particularly nasty sequence of events. And I'd say that to anyone else, though I'd probably say it much more rudely to 95% of the board. It's not personal.

I just started watching. I don't have time to write up all of my thoughts right now, but I do have one question (and forgive me if I've missed something):

Is there something wrong with Bob Saget? Why can he barely speak? I don't want to say anything rude, in case there really is an issue, but he could barely talk and didn't sound like himself at all. I know some of y'all had to notice, as several of my friends said the same thing!

My s.o. and I have watched the first four episodes.  We enjoy it in the same treacly way we enjoyed the original.  I have to say, I'm impressed/relieved (?) that Candace is willing to "go there" with certain things that I'm sure bump up against her Evangelical sensibilities.  I was ready to cut my favorite Miss Stephanie with that God awful English accent in episode one, so glad they cut. it. out.

    • I can get through another 10 to 20 episodes. April is such a compelling character. The actress just owns the screen. I think this is also why I'm annoyed by Draper. Margo and April are so fantastic that Draper is a wet blanket (except for one scene which I mention below).   Draper was bearable in his scenes with Logan because he was not whining about the house. If he has more scenes with Logan, I can tolerate him. As of now, he's just very one note. Everyone has had more to do.  Thank you for explaining about Raven's backstory and her connection to Draper. It clears things up. Logan explained things a bit in the convo with Draper, but there was still some things I was not sure of. Gabet and Kibbee are just sensational. I now see why people adore Sharon Gabet. How did AW squander her talents? SMH.  It's the way Draper is written. I'm drawn to Eliot who is a total cheating pig. The writing and the performance are first-rate. Draper is stomping around like a spoiled child and I don't have the benefit of seeing April and Draper's relationship from the beginning so this is my first into to Draper. He's annoying as can be. ========== There's also an African-American police officer who's struggling to walk again. He's Steve's partner. He took his first steps. I can't tell if they are writing him off or if he's going to say. I hope he stays because the actor is quite charismatic.
    • Oh no!  Did you not like the Susan character? She intrigued me from that one episode I skimmed through. What didn't you like about her?
    • The eternal dream...him begging to get with her included.
    • On the other hand, I still find episodes of TV with people smoking in front of babies shocks me into nervous giggles.
    • Word of advice... you have to view the show without the 2025 lenses.. which means you need to 86 the misandry.
    • i love reading other posters alternate takes and scenarios. Yours would have really upped the tension.
    • Amanda is not my cup of tea. That's all I'm gonna say. She's repetitive and childish. She acts like a brat with her parents and has this constant "I'm not satisfied or happy" look on her face. The actress is okay in my opinion. I'm not impressed by anything I've seen her do so far. But she's okay.  BUT Amanda's repetitive scenes with Sam are the ones that I want to fast-forward the most. They just have 2  topics they like to talk about... and it's always "You are infringing on my right to be a powerful career woman! I need to be outside dating men for a job, so I can WORK and prove I'M NOT A RICH GIRL ONLY!" and he's like "You and your family are buying me a career and I don't want it! I WANT TO BE ABLE TO STRUGGLE and be poor and you guys ARE denying me the opportunity by giving it all on a silver platter" This is their main storyline for me... and it's just annoying when it's the same every single episode. It's a fake struggle that I don't buy. These people are so spoiled by this point and have everything... don't make me suffer listening to them bicker how amazing their life is, so they are unhappy about that. Just a personal view. I'm not saying THIS IS the situation. My view is also restricted, since I'm only 4-5 months into the episodes.
    • It's shocking to see Steffy look down on anyone. She was the new generation HO for years. I mean... she was nasty and using sex to seduce married-engaged-in-relationship-men all the time. She was embracing it fully. Bradley was accenting on the fact that Taylor's daughter had become Brooke 2. I remember how disgusting it was when she was using Hope's virginity to her advantage and offering to f-ck the guys that wanted Hope. It was ABSURDLY nasty.  Then couple of years ago Bradley decided we should forget about it and made Steffy BECOME her grandmother. IN AN INSTANT. There was no build up to it. Which aged the f-ck out the character and made her unbearable. Because it's one thing to see an actual matriarch, older woman doing these things, being a moral judge... but it's complete joke to see the ex-ho acting like this. Ex-ho that is still incredibly young and has no right acting like she is better that anyone or... a moral JUDGE. Steffy and Hope's personalities got swapped!!! That's the irony of it. So any time these gang-style of fans come attacking Hope... for acting like a "slut"... I pinch myself - their HEROINE Steffy was doing this HARCORE. Are these people oblivious or just pretending not to remember. How can you stan a moral judge... that attacks "sluts" and also stan the same type of behavior you are attacking... years ago. How does this happen. But I repeat myself at this point.  I agree with everything you said 100000 percent. It's the truth. At least in my eyes.
    • The Amanda pregnancy was a blunder. Amanda and Sam were AW's best bet for a starcrossed supercouple. Young love destined to be turn apart by outside forces and misunderstandings . Battling for years to finally get together. Instead AW had them married and pregnant within a year.
