I'm not gonna lie, I'm actually going to come back for this (I don't watch GH anymore--hence why I'm never in that thread now). I think it could turn out better than you guys think.

Sorry, but I'm kind of the SON Pollyanna, I guess. I can be bitchy and snarky when I want to be. ;)

Don't apologize. Nothing wrong with being "the SON Pollyanna." The truth is, there is always the chance of Ron and Frank surprising everyone, including the naysayers, and doing something really great and fun. I, for one, am skeptical and worried, partly because it's in my nature to be that way.

They look great in that photo.

They do. I wonder, though, why Ryan Carnes was chosen to re-create Phil Brewer.

Herbst says. "And they only had five or six actors in the whole show. Today, between our contract players and our recurring group, we have over 70. It's wild how much things have changed."

It's wild all right. Anyway, this sounds interesting, I'll be watching.

As posted above, at least they chose the right actors. I actually like the nod to history, and as long as Phil isn't sleeping w/ Brad's grandfatherJessie, Franko as Steve and Silazzzzzzzzzzzzzz as Phil, so the choices are on point). Like Khan said, maybe they'll surprise us...

That said, It may change after I've actually seen it....

Herbie brought up an important point: that GH's cast was much, much, MUCH smaller when it premiered. Who was part of the regular/on-contract cast, though? Because the only ones I can recall off-hand were Beradino (Steve), McLaughlin (Jessie), Thinnes (Phil) and the lady who played Steve's girlfriend before Audrey.

I can't believe there are idiots on twitter asking why Liz is part of the Hardy stuff, uh really wow

Seriously?? They probably don't know that she IS a Hardy

The original GH cast to my knowledge was :John Beradino as Steve Hardy

Emily MacLaughlin as Jessie Brewer

Roy Thinnes as Phil Brewer

Carolyn Craig as Cynthia Allison (Phil's girl married Ken

Hunt Powerts (Jack Betts) as Dr. Ken Martin

Jana Turner as patient Angie Costello

Ralph Manza as her father Mike Costello, owned pizza parlor

Craig Curtis as Eddie Weeks Angie' s bad boy boyfriend

Tom Brown as Janitor Al Weeks his dad

Lenore Kingston as Mrs. Lenore?? Weeks the mom

Neil Hamilton as Philip Mercer, wealthy businessman

K.T. Stevens as Peggy Mercer, dated Steve and Roy

Robert Clarke as Roy Lansing

Alison Haye as wealhy Priscilla Longworth, a volunteer that fell for Steve

I actually can kind of see why Ryan Carnes would work as Phil: part of the conflict between him and Jessie in their marriage is that it involved an older woman married to a younger man, which of course carried a huge stigma back then. I can kind of buy him in place of Roy Thinnes.

And not gonna lie, I could kind of see JT channeling his inner John Beradino in that picture. I buy it.
