I am behind several episodes. After Sonny said stop it he should have thrown Will's stuff in a suitcase and thrown it out the door along with Will and gone out and found Derek for some loving. Derek did offer….hehe

I am so over Will and Sonny ….Guy doesn't help the cause either…Higley needs to split them up for good or recast Will.

Ben is there to "turn on" the ladies and gays...not to act. I question whether the character can actually read, or if he just screws his teachers for grades. That said, I would never kick RSW out of bed, and I would rather look at him than sit through Guy Wilson passing a gall stone attempting to act. Atrocious!! He always looks like he is constipated, and the whiny-ness of Will is just pathetic. This is not Sami's son. I truly believe he's been replaced by a pod person!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Random bitch of the day: If they're going to put medical terms into the scripts, can they please make sure the actors actually know how to pronounce them? Shawn Christian completely butchered "endoscopy" today. I work in a hospital and hearing the actors struggling to say this stuff makes me cringe.

Also, Eve constantly hanging out at the Salem U campus is ridiculous.

She's basically stalking JJ at this point. And Jennifer is stalking Eve. How many times does she have to corner her to tell her that they're not going to talk about this anymore?!

Nicole's hair and dress yesterday and today are looking better than most of her recent styling.

Most of us wouldn't mind them if the writers didn't shove Dr. Dan into EVERY SINGLE STORY. I like him as a supporting actor, not as the (forced) lead, Melanie doesn't bother me as much as others, but she is a little grating at times. The writing makes Naggie irritating, as she props them so much. I'd like to see his "sisters" back in town in stories more than him!

Maggie was a Horton by marriage. As far as I'm concerned she lost her title of Horton the second she gained her forced egg-baby and forced grand-egg-baby. None of it should have been forced. Melanie and Daniel will never be Horton's, no matter what Tomsell's wet dream for them was. Not when they had viable Horton's to use in Mike and Sarah, not Daniel and Melanie. Just like instead of Serena, she should have been Sarah and just like Xander should have been Alexander (I guess he could be but the last name is different). Sooo many missed opportunities and it's like they trolled the fans and took Sarah and Alexander and made them into new, unconnected characters. Ridiculous.

) Anyways... I did really feel disgusted by Eurovision this year and I doubt I'll watch this horrific musical torture in the future. My ears and my psyche will not survive.
    • Regarding the mobster storyline: The scripts, the cardroom set, and the writing for Joey -- are all terrible. They seem to be writing a realistic depiction of compulsive gambling as an addiction, showing that it pops into his head all the time -- it has become hardwired into his brain.  The APA (American Psychological Association) describes compulsive gambling as having a similar effect on the physical brain as drug and alcohol addiction. https://www.apa.org/monitor/2023/07/how-gambling-affects-the-brain I think Jason Graham (Doug) is doing an adequate job playing Doug as a compulsive gambler, with the thoughts/urges coming into his head all the time, and being unable to stop. However, the cardroom set is awful and the mobster storyline is a bad cliché, so it's all so uninteresting to watch. I think Mr. Graham is doing the best he can with the crap they gave him to work with. If anyone reading or watching has a gambling issue, check out Gamblers Anonymous.  They have many types of meetings -- in-person, online, video, audio, etc.  They also have resources for friends/family of compulsive gamblers.
    • Today was painful (especially for Philip).  I still feel for Xander. He was clear he was happy sharing and working with Philip. It's just one more betrayal from someone he loved. Going back to last year when he found out about Victor and Fiona, then Alex and Philip. He forgave and tried. Then Philip went behind his back again. He's been walking on the edge for weeks. This is a man who was abused, neglected and has never had any therapy for his horrific past. He has zero coping skills because he's never learned them. I hate this but I refuse to hate Xander
    • Lucy Coe wasn't even this big of a whore.
    • Kate being the one that Alex called was a nice surprise. The cut to her looking all sheek made me instantly get excited for her to get back into business mode. And the Jack reference from when she first came to town (on-screen) was inserted naturally which is always welcome. When they were talking about how much sex sells, I almost got the impression they were sizing each other up in a May/December type of way.  All the Philip stuff was gruesome. I'm happy the show isn't shying away from Xander's ugliness. I love them both, and it just makes me intrigued for the aftermath for it all to be taken seriously. I cheered when Philip spat out at that Sarah knew the truth. I'm on tenterhooks for their eventual confrontation. I was surprised that Kate wasn't a little vicious towards Sarah for Xander's obvious behavior, but maybe that's still to come. How wonderfully entangled is it that both Philip and Shawn/Steve stopped each other from getting the drug. Both equally at fault. Who/what will ultimately save Bo? And with everything going on, is a Salem where it's looking likely that EJ is about to own the hospital imminent?
    • Oddly.. Chase and Steve seem to have both vanished from the canvas in December so the Estelle return loses impact when two of her kids stop appearing shortly after her return (and I assume TR leaves in early 1986 as well). The Steve recast doesn't work... but it's odd that he has a long scene with Teri with Cagney looking jealous.. when the majority of his time on the show previously was a relationship and engagement to Stephanie (who he barely has a scene with in the episodes I see). Your idea for Wendy/Bela/Stephanie sounds just like what Ryan's Hope did with Michael/Kim/Rae... and considering Louise Shaffer was playing Rae and Stephanie.. it would have been a lousy redux of a superior story on another soap (that had months of build-up) I think Quinn becoming assistant to Stephanie was Mayer/Braxton... but not 100 % sure. I don't know if Mayer/Braxton was setting up Sarah as a bad girl disguised as a good girl.. but the actress (Joyner) was playing the scenes in that manner.. and Tomlin wisely tapped into that when he took over.
    • She’s such a caricature - which is a shame because I think the actress is capable of so much more.   I don’t know why Cady often feels like she has overcompensated in her performances. She already proved she can play much more than just Dixie Cooley during her first stint at ATWT (her best acting era). Her performances in various roles since then have been quite strange at times.
    • It feels like the show suddenly woke up today and remembered it was Sweeps month. Lots of action and forward momentum, including a delicious Nina/Carly fight.
