The article is coming out any day now and he needed to warn her about that before she was blindsided by the media coverage. Its not like she lives nearby and he could tell her in person. He mentioned that he wanted her to come to Salem so he could do it face to face but she didnt. He had no choice but to do it this way bc he couldnt leave. This isnt something he wanted to do, but he finally built up the coverage to do so.
