Bill Cosby

True but it you truly believe if you are being falsely accused, it would make sense to want to expose the motives behind it. Especially for someone who I do believe values his reputation.

My only point was that there is likely some semblance of truth in all these allegations which is why he'd never risk a court case.

My guess is we won't hear a word from him again.

I've been wondering where Cosby can go from here. I don't see any other choice for him but to just disappear as much as he can. He's never coming back from this. He maybe able to keep up his charity work but he can't attach his name to it. Even if he wanted to address it, I think that would be a disaster because Cosby hasn't done a coherent interview in years. I've been under the impression that he's dealing with dementia.

Did Autumn Jackson ever get DNA proof that Cosby is her father? I remember watching her and her mother on Geraldo, that had to have been over twenty (gulp!) years ago. Isn't it something how these things dog a person for decades... To me, that was plenty enough scandal for Mr. Cosby, I never imagined a child born out of an extramarital affair would pale in comparison to later allegations.

She's a much more credible witness, but she was a damn STUPID girl. At this point, I do think he's guilty... but at least she got 5,000 clams and 3 weeks in a penthouse for it, that's more than most. Somebody gives you two white pills, and you just take them? Some may think if you do something THAT dumb, then you deserve what you get. Now if you were given something without your knowledge, a whole nother kettle of fish. But to take the drugs of your own free will? Please. But I personally still can't bring myself to say they deserve it. You gotta have compassion for the dull and ignorant.

I'm not sure it's reasonable to try and put yourself in someone else's shoes. This was 1976, she was 19, he was a celebrity. Would I have taken the pills at 19 and trusted him? No, but I can see how some young woman could be intimidated or even flattered to be the girl Bill Cosby had his eye on and wouldn't question it.

I see people posting there questioning why she took the pills, so they seem to believe he offered them, but not one person is questioning his motives. He's the alleged perpetrator but her actions are being scrutinized more than his, why? A prime example of why many don't want to come forward. She used poor judgment but that doesn't justify rape. And it doesn't seem like her mother knew a whole lot different.

I saw that all the women on The View, other than Rosie O'Donnell, were cautious to say a bad word about him, instead focusing on how it's wrong for him to lose his job opportunities, and trying to compare him to Paula Deen or Tiger Woods. Rosie even asked Whoopi if she thought 13 women just decided they wanted to ruin Bill Cosby's life. Whoopi said maybe.

I can see why they wouldn't want to take sides, but sympathizing with Cosby while trying to feign impartiality is just kind of tacky and sad. For all the talk of how The View is supposed to "represent" America, it's more clear than ever that they represent nothing more than their rich Hollywood friends, and they have nothing of value to offer.

I wish this show would finally get shitcanned.

I have loved Whoopi Goldberg's comedy and many of her performances. I also think she behaves like a complete idiot when talking about a lot of these celebrities. I was embarrassed and ashamed for her and Rosie Perez, both of whom I like a lot.

I liked that new line-up (except Nicolle Wallace), it's too bad if it's going down the tubes.

    • Kat vs. Eva and Anita vs. Leslie were today's highlights.
    • TBF, the majority of Month 2 was them beefing up all the side-stories...mind you Duprees as well as non-Duprees...and it did not seem like people were taking to it as well as they were taking to stories in Month 1. If anything I feel (hope) that May Sweeps is going to shift...while dealing with the aftermath of the Nicole/SilkPress storyline...to the next big story aka Martin's Secret. But that's me hoping that Martin's meltdown over SilkPress jiggles some memories of his out...which I was already hoping would happen. Add on that Bill is involved in both stories now...that might be his way of being sure nothing happens to him now in light of SilkPress's antics.    And...same. I feel they did a better job than expected with Vanessa/Doug with me because I didn't even realize how invested I was until their talk at the hospital and Doug made that subtly blunt comment about their arrangement...making the various online discussions online real. And for me, relevant.
    • Michael Logan is being disingenuous. He knows who's to blame in these situations. Not only does he know how daytime works, but he also wrote about all the BTS shenanigans at the P&G soaps leading up to the Justine story. I will give Victoria Wyndham this: she went all out in the performance. She didn't half ass the performance. Let's also not forget that it was Michael Logan who was publicly calling for the firing of JFP when she on GL but says nothing about that in this interview or in the articles. My guess is that someone at AW didn't like Wyndham and was giving Logan the gossip and he was writing his column with that tea.
    • Basic script work; if it hadn't been for Jane Elliot and Rena Sofer, it could've been for any random character.
    • Because you are posting these things like they are true facts.  And they aren't. But whatever, Donna, you will just keep doing you.   Most people actually are trying to talk about GH in this thread.  Not random twitter/facebook/internet rumors you bring here.  I am just wasting my time even responding.
    • This is a common theme with long running actors and preposterous storylines. Firstly they may relish the chance to play something different after years as that character-Ok I have an evil twin, possessed by the devil etc-at least it's something new to play. Secondly, no matter how dumb the plot it keeps them frontburner and valued to the show and the audience. Better than being a talk to. Thirdly, as VW stated in the end they don't have the power to dictate story and too much complaining can backfire and set them up in a negative light. Not a good position to be in with your employers. So they just buckle up and give it their all or act out the script till it's over.
    • Your use of the word "apparently" would need to include a source. Just your use of the word doesn't make it true or valid. Where would you get the idea that something has happened if you hadn't already received an indication from somewhere else, specifically a valid source (including Tabyana herself)? By using the word "apparently," you are implying this was mentioned somewhere, either in a publication or similar.
    • I think Hotel would have the similar demos as Dynasty W 19-49 would have been strong. St Elsewhere survived b/c it attracted wealthier/urban viewers and The Equalizer was probably stronger with men and younger viewers. So each had their own niche-good counter-programming. As for Aaron Spelling's influence over ABC in terms of scheduling, I don't know if he would have been happy with Charlie's Angels moving to Sunday, The Colbys scheduled on Thursdays or Matt Houston moved to Fridays. I think he just had to roll with the punches.
    • Thank you @Broderick. That information was so helpful. I watched the first episode of the "Mansion of the Damned" storyline. I was extremely confused by Margaret Colin's Paige and her relationship to other characters. Your post helps me understand what's happening. The rest of the show was easy to understand and I'm enjoying it. Hunter's Nola is a good character for me since I know Kim Hunter from other work.  I must have seen clips of Edge of Night before because I remember seeing April.
    • How is it back tracking when it was in fact the word I originally used? It's not.
