September 8, 201411 yr Member I realize Brad has no real ties to today's GC, but I still wish they'd let Tom play the character again. This reminds me of when AW brought back Sam Groom for the finale, but not as Russ. It just annoys me a little. Still, I appreciate the idea and I'm glad he's coming back. Yup they should have let him play the original character and say something like I was from GC and I wish I had never left....lol....with him and that old truck ....
September 8, 201411 yr Member See I do like the idea of them recreating this scene, but I hate that they keep using popular actors like him and John McCook, but not as their original characters. It makes no sense, especially when you consider how important John McCook's character was.

September 8, 201411 yr Member B&B doesn't need extra promotion, especially from John McCook who foolishly hasn't had a story there in years. If you want to promote B&B he;s the last person to send off.
September 8, 201411 yr Member McCook is still a face of B&B to a lot of people. I don't mind an Eric cameo. It's just having an actor from the show's early days in a cameo no one will notice, instead of having him back as his character - I think it's a wasted opportunity.
September 8, 201411 yr Member Can you imagine all the potential if John McCook came back as Lance, even if just to usher on the latest leading man playing Brooks? That would be great. Or even Brad, he could be bringing his son in and they could say he reunited with Leslie and they had the child together, or Lorie or even Nikki if they wanted to go that route. There are creative options. I feel like nods like this are easy to do and fans will lap it up while the show overall is just so far from being Y&R on a daily basis.
September 8, 201411 yr Member If they can have Eileen Davidson pull double duty, they can have McCook do the same.
September 8, 201411 yr Member Since his character was a doctor they really could have had him working at Phyllis clinic.
September 8, 201411 yr Member I have to give props for this idea - using the same "scene" and dialogue. Clearly, Y&R has been prepping all summer to get the show on track for fall. It's not that anyone will really remember the scene (way before my time), it's the fact that they are actually thinking about ways to be creative and that gives me hope. Plus, they are getting publicity for what is truly a nothing event, but because of the twist, it's noteworthy.
September 8, 201411 yr Member I realize Brad has no real ties to today's GC, but I still wish they'd let Tom play the character again. That's what I'm saying. Brad could've just been passing through GC. It would've been more organic this way. But whatever. At least they were nice enough to give him a cameo.
September 8, 201411 yr Member Cute idea but wasted on Phyllis coming back to town. Should have saved it for an anniversary tribute episode or the first look at a major new or returning character.
September 8, 201411 yr Member They already did something this like about two years ago when Jeffrey had amnesia (no cameo though). I agree they should just use the actor in a different way and have him pass through.
September 9, 201411 yr Member Nice nod to history, but couldn't they have used him as Phyllis's doctor, Dr. Brad Eliot of Atlanta? I like following the original script, at least they're using Bill Bell's work instead of Jean & Shelley's blundering!
