May 12, 201411 yr Member Yes, Neil deserves just as many failed pairings as Jack. However, Jack's pairings are written to last. Neil's are not. Jack is written so we can root for him (the women mistreat him), Neil's has not been (he is the cheater and abuser). Even now, they have Jack in love with Phyllis and hesitant, holding back for the pain it will cause hus daughter and holding out for his love. Neil, on the other hand, chased Hilary and "seduced her" although he was just in love with Leslie. Outright saying he doesn't care about his kids feelings. While the story elements are similar how it is carried it out is different. Jack is the good guy who deserves happiness with a semi appropriate wiman and is struggling to reach for it again. Neil is the horn dog with a woman too young for him who doesn't care who he hurts. Wow. We see that completely differently. I see Jack as a dog who has thrown away one marriage and woman after the next. How many times has Jack been married for literally two weeks and then at the first sign of trouble he dumps the woman he claims to love? He was all ready to screw Kelly and leave her the second Phyllis woke up. He only stopped because Summer caught him first. Really, he disgusts me. I guess I thought KSJ was a little older and that DG and JM were a little younger, but even still, on the show they seem like a generation younger than Neil. Jack has to be 55. And I agree that his days as a romantic lead should be long past. I don't mind Neil as a romantic lead at all. However, with someone his own age and not as some old school lame-o mac daddy. Lol
May 12, 201411 yr Member I'm surprised VR hasn't gotten her own show on BET or TV One. She is a very feisty, passionate person and that melds right into her acting style. I would think one of those channels would appreciate that.
May 12, 201411 yr Member KSJ is 48. JM is 40 DG is 42. IMO, they are all in the same age range and should date in the same age range. They all should stick with older women, closer to 40 and over the better. DG is 15 years older than CK, would you want them to break up Lane because of the difference? Someone on Twitter asked VR why don't she go to Oprah and try to get som of her projects on OWN. She said that Oprah is in bed with CBS/Sony and she said that she did pitch a project to Oprah and she said no. VR also said that Oprah had her removed from a movie that she was producing.

Lame shouldn't have gotten together in the first place. Too bad because Tyler Perry need help on all of his drama projects over at OWN. Edited May 12, 201411 yr by MoTheGreat

Please break up Lane. I never liked the pairing specifically because of the age difference. I am not at all surprised by Oprah. She has steered clear of controversial people and anything race related other than her own feel good story of success.

May 12, 201411 yr Member VR also said that Sony was concerned that she would take some of the Y&R audience with her if she had a soap on OWN. I thought she had a point there.
May 12, 201411 yr Member VR also said that Sony was concerned that she would take some of the Y&R audience with her if she had a soap on OWN. I thought she had a point there. Really? Interesting. But I don't think that will happen unless it is a daytime soap that airs at the same time. Then yeah, she would take some of their audience. Otherwise, that would NEVER happen.

May 12, 201411 yr Member Looking at The Have's And Half Not's, she could've put any old turd together and it would've done well on OWN. That audience wants soaps. I also think the Prospect Park reboots would've been big hits if aired in primetime on OWN. But it's a shame nobody has turned he memoir into a tv movie. I think that story would be GREAT as a tv movie or mini-series, even a film. Unfortunately, the only black movies people want to make are either slapstick comedies or slave films. They don't want to see a success story like The Women Who Raised Me.
May 12, 201411 yr Member I really like Haves and the Have Nots. I wonder can they get her as a ghost writer.
May 12, 201411 yr Member If she has writing talent, hire her. Matters not what she might ask for in her contract. Tyler Perry Needs. The help. Edited May 12, 201411 yr by Khan
May 12, 201411 yr Member If she has writing talent, hire her. Matters not what she might ask for in her contract. Tyler Perry Needs. The help. Oh my sweet summer child...it matters not whether they need the help or how talented she is. We all know that.
May 13, 201411 yr Member No one would ever, or should ever hire VR. She's toxic. Imagine hiring her and then she bitches you out on twitter ad nauseum. She goes on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on about how there has never been a black Executive Producer of Y&R, but, when questioned, she cannot name a black executive producer who wanted the job. She cannot name a qualified black director. She cannot name anyone. She just bitches. That's all she's got.
