Yeah, I was surprised that they glossed over using the USPS to commit potential faked domestic terrorism and the federal implications of that.

Or at least tampering with the mail, period - both of which are federal offenses.

Throw in a sexual assault, and this is the "Law & Order: SVU" episode that writes itself.

Well, they are spinning off Law & Order: Hate Crimes in the fall, so I fully expect an episode about this. Dick Wolf must be so thankful towards Jussie right now.

At this point FOX is just being cautious and not dropping him too quickly as to avoid a wrongful termination lawsuit.

^ At first I thought "too soon", but when they starting talking about the gay/trans panic defense I realized they were hitting the right notes.  Funny, sad, serious all in one.

Yeah, I thought it was funny, poignant and insightful but I wanted to post it without comment, so members/browsers could take in the piece on its own merits without interference.

Jaboukie is right: if Jussie wanted to call attention to LGTBQ issues, or to himself, there were other, less insane ways to accomplish those goals.  He never had to go this far and potentially put a great many others at risk.  And yes, saying that his actions make it harder to believe victims of hate crimes presumes the general public gives a damn in the first place (which, let's be real, they don't).  That was SO dead-on true.
