Members Cat
Well, I am sorry to hear that Cynthia Watros can't pull double-duty. I have really enjoyed her portrayal of a woman on the edge (of sanity? of taking her next drink? of expressing her true feelings?) and found fascinating to watch. So much left unsaid! So much threatening to spill over. And then there is Villy. Snore. I bet JFP is really bummed that CW isn't sticking around. I don't really know much about Cady McClain except that she appears to be beloved amongst AMC fans (and some ATWT ones). I only caught some of her last run on AMC before she got poisoned with peanut-butter and banana pancakes (barf). Is it just me, or did she pull rank about not wanting scenes with Tad, demanding that Dixie be paired with Zach, etc? Maybe that was just a mean-spirited rumor. Anyhoo, I hope she can make silk out of a sow's ear. Kelly needs to be played by somebody who knows the meaning of two-dimensional and subtext because lord knows it is hard enough to find in the dialogue. Members Khan
I don't know why, but I don't feel like Cady McClain will last very long on this show either. I think she's a great actress, of course, but even if they do plan to pair Kelly with Jack (as TVGuide.com suggests), I feel like 1) the pairing won't be successful, and 2) it will lead to her exit. Members Khan
Cady McClain did suggest the show pair Dixie with Zach, as well as with David Hayward; and in both cases, TPTB acquiesced -- to mixed results. However, what got her booted from AMC via the "pancake death" was her criticism of then-HW Megan McTavish's work (although, over which particular story, I forget). Members dragonflies
It was over the Tad burying Dr Madden alive story Cady was better on ATWT
Members ajsp35801
I had heard that McClain was a diva? Is this accurate? Does anyone know?
Members reallyhateskateonlost
Perfect. Dixie was a homewrecker on AMC, slept with Adam while married to Brooke. Can't see Kelly and Jack now.
Members ChitHappens
That's what I hear as well, but I don't even care about CM. I can just hope someone comes along with some poison pancakes and feeds them to Kelly!
Members Khan
Thank you, dragonflies! I'm no set-sider, but I wouldn't go so far as to call CM a "diva." For the most part, she strikes me as more of a "team player" who was nonetheless bored with her character.
Members titan1978
I loved Cady right up to her first AMC exit. I loved that Tad/Dixie/Liza story. When she came back, she just wasn't ever really Dixie again. She was fantastic as Rosanna. Something I never thought she would be able to pull off. Members Khan
Frankly, Dixie used to depress the hell out of me -- and that was long before the actress who portrayed her left for the first time.
Members marceline
Never been a big fan of Dixie but I like Cady and I'm glad to see her get work.
Members Vee
I love Cady more than Dixie, but Dixie became essential to AMC. And I liked her when she came back both times, and then again on the new show.
Members dio
i anxiously await the 'Cady McClain fired!' thread when this all goes to mess. LOL I love Cady, but unless this role is completely rewrite and GIVEN LIFE I don't think she has the ability to BRING the character to life herself. oh well.
