And this is why I think the show should have done more to keep Carrie around, even in a recurring capacity, and why I've never understood why some people wanted them to fire Ari Zuker.

I feel like the show has branched out in the last few years and Sami isn't as central to everything as she once was, but it's going to be a huge adjustment.

I really hope this makes them bring some Hortons back, and maybe Eve Donovan.

She's almost 40. That age group (Rafe/Sami/EJ/Nicole/Brady) have been leading long enough now. It's time for real shake up.

Days is doomed if they do this. Days is screwed without Sami.

It was a terrible decision to build so much of the show around her in the past decade. I've never really understood it myself. This is a classic example of how soaps shouldn't be reliant on one or two characters for such a long stretch of time.

Still shocking though. I bet she'll be back though, and she certainly will if DAYS is cancelled in the next couple of years.

Wow. Definitely didn't see this coming. I hope they give her one hell of an exit story. This show has been on fire for nearly a year straight and I hope that trend continues despite this.
