Y&R: January 2014 Discussion Thread

Unsurprising. Many folks were calling for a recast. As if recasting would change the characters status or level of importance on the show. Or the story he was given. Ha! What storyline twist? That he is Kay's grandson? That she left him lots of money although she said she would "leave him her life's work" by passing over Tucker when she died? Anyways, considering your position, it would take a miracle for you to accept Bryton in any capacity. And while Bryton is a good actor that does well when given story, I don't think he is in the miracle business. smile.png

Actually, when he had major screen time with SN & JC, I watched all of Bryton's scenes - a first. Working with those actors really gave him a chance to show his stuff. I don't know why, but working with them energized him. ITA - it's the writing/lack thereof + he got no favors with so many scenes with KSJ & CK. It really was a marked difference when he was given different screen partners.

These eppies are lacking and are not packing the emotional punch I had hoped. With the exception of EH, I'm very underwhelmed. Why Vicboria has a POV is beyond me. Miller and Muhney can't leave soon enough! Imagine the likes of the late Michael Zaslow and (give me another name) working these scenes. It would be totally different and the audience, as a whole, would feel something!

Oh lord when she started crying and ran up the stairs, I was cracking up. WTF was that? Terrible. These eppies aren't packing an emotional slap, let alone a punch. I RME at those "Y&R is Ova! after these 2 leave" folks. Hardly. I'm getting no life from either of them and the actual ending on today's eppy is so LAME. Glad its over.

Now it's becoming Burton's, who's honestly not bothering me as much as he did as Jason.

I can't believe I am saying this, but I agree.

I think the reason is because Jason started out as a rather boring character and for a moment there (1996-98) made Jason a daily treat to watch. Of course, 15 years playing Sonny's hired hit man made him a lot of people's least fave character on General Hospital.

As far as Dullan is concerned, he's always been boring. That's how we met him, how he stands today and probably all he will ever be. There's really no place for him to go but up.

Very underwhelmed by that ending. But glad Adam and Muhney are both gone.

It looks like Adam was shot.

I wonder if Billy will be charged with anything. They know he had a gun and a vendetta that culminates in Adam being shot (if that is what happens).

Jack had bad dialogue. It's like he doesn't know Adam's past. "Adam would never do that". Of course, he would Jack.

Deff was underwhelmed with BM and MMs acting in their last scenes. BYE!

I think Muchney was leaps and bounds better than Miller. But that might be because Miller got the dialogue and the heavy lifting of the scene. And either he is not capable of or didn't care enough about finishing his tenure on Y&R with a bang.

I will miss superstar Killer Miller forever and always :(

As he always liked to say...

Paul Cramer and Billy Abbott, two totally different characters on completely different soaps

I thought BM was great, I dread the awful David Tom. What I saw of him on OLTL, his acting was atrocious

That was a "what the holy hell" moment if I've ever seen one. Like a child who had been grounded!

Today's episode was the best in a while. Great acting by Jack, Billy, Adam, Chelsea, Chloe, Victoria and Nikki.
