Her Ava performance is so full of unrealistic life the crime is she isn't filmed in b/w or allowed to smoke as she slinks around the way all good villainesses used to as they manipulated men. While it has retained its occasional cartoonishness and featured a truly horrible couple, it has been entertaining throughout, has clearly demonstrated the effects of long-term storyline planning, has been able to go from A storyline to A storyline flawlessly while still remembering to build character moments and good relationships, its cast is energetic and sells the stories, it created two wonderful next generation characters and introduced them with stories that fulfilled their potential and created tons more. Among other things (like not being afraid to take its time with slow pacing). And can I say how great it is to see Meredith Scott Lynn on there? She deserves recognition.
