I actually think Emme Rylan has done an incredible job from the start of this mess to the end. I think she's more than earned her place on the show, and I don't get the people crying for Julie Berman who spent her last several years on GH looking and acting like she'd rather be anywhere else.

I was never part of the Cult of Marcy Rylan - I thought she was passable on GL and horribly out of place on Y&R - but I do think she's worked out here and probably done the best work of her short career. I don't get the hate people have. I really am rooting and feeling for her Lulu, even if Ron is about to throw her right under the bus.

I'll be the opposite here but Dante was not wrong in telling the truth! He should not have lied on the stand. Lulu was the one in the wrong here. It was stupid and foolish of her and she should not have done it. So what she considered running away? She didn't do it. She really should have been honest, downplayed it and let Alexis deal with that. She is the one that messed things up for herself. Its not right to now give Dante the cold shoulder and blame him. They did not lose custody bc he told the truth. The judge made it clear that he was going to side with the birth parents on this and the only way Lulu and Dante were going to keep Connie was if those birth parents were unfit. Maxie was proven to be unfit, but Spinelli was not. What Dante said was irrelevant to the outcome. He is not to blame for that.

Elizabeth's helmet hair just isnt working. The style is just so bland and could use some more additional work. That cut might be better with a different color as her current color is a bit drab and boring. She could look cute with some highlights or maybe an ombre

I cant with Felix anymore. When it comes to him having one on ones with people, I will FF his scenes. He is the absolute worse thing about GH today

The outcome is irrelevant. All Lulu required from her husband was to have her back, especially since Dante has lied under oath before. Sonny looked him in the eye and put a bullet in chest, yet Mr. Holier Than Thou Falconeri lied because he found out the man who gunned him down was blood. Dante didn't even know this man, so there was no reason to lie for him. His wife needs him to lie and Dante is conveniently an officer of the court? Unacceptable! It was just stupid, but it looks like this is the set up for what's next with Lante.

Dante made a mistake and he was wrong to lie back then. So bc he made a mistake a few years ago, he has to be consistent and continue to make it when the opportunity presents itself? What kind of logic is that? Lying under oath is wrong no matter what. Chalk it up to him learning from his mistakes and doing better. Lulu shouldn't have put him in that position. As a cop he definitely shouldn't be lying under oath that doesn't even matter. He is a citizen like all the rest sworn to tell the truth and that's what he did. Why are we trying to rationalizing him committing a crime here bc that's what perjury is.

I think Lulu is only one step short of getting to the point---Dante wanted to give the baby back as soon as the truth came out. He supported her delusional court case and effort to trash her/their friends. I don't think he owed her more, frankly.

I've stated before that I don't believe Dante wanted this fight but didn't have the courage to tell his wife so he humiliates her in public. That didn't have to happen. Tell her the truth that the baby belongs to Spixie and they can't do this and the outcome is they lose the baby. Don't tell Lulu the truth and let her continue the fight that he does not want, she lies under oath and loses the kid she probably was not going to get anyhow. The outcome is the same, so all of this could have been avoided had Dante been honest with his wife. If Dante was not going to be honest with his wife, then have her back!

As for today's eppy, I just started it. Did anyone else notice that it's dark outside at the MC and Wyndemere but the judge has not adjourned for the day with AJ's trial?

    • 5-12   Well, as much as i've been enjoying the highs of BTG, I guess I should try to play catch up on my other soaps...lol.   I actually liked this episode. But I guess it could be because I felt there was a lot going on. Bill and Liam's talk. Luna attempting them inroads with Finn. Steffy comforting Hope over Liam. Sheila thanking Bill for helping Luna. Even a decent cliffhanger with Steffy walking in on Luna and Finn.   I know I said it before, but I don't care for the Liam storyline, but the acting has been good.
    • I enjoyed Santa Barbara from the beginning. Mainly because it was so fresh and different than the P&G soaps I was used to watching.  But there is no denying that it did not hit its stride until 1985. The writing, casting and production all finally came together. Unfortunately backstage drama then slowly destroyed the show and for me from 1988 onward it was a completely different show than the one I was a fan of.
    • Oh, really? That explains why the reveal episodes...the majority of which Zimmerman did the breakdowns for...hit perfectly. Cool! I really loved that. Background music and all.
    • I guess I should appreciate Clifton's devotion to his craft, but this comes off as so pretentious. Nothing about Liam's story (or B&B, for that matter) is high art.
    • To me the product placement normalizes these folks. Your bound to see household products around no matter how immaculate someone's house may be.  I was just thinking about her as Yvonne on AMC. Yeah, would love to see her.
    • There's also the soap opera conundrum: once characters get everything they want, they tend to stagnate. Nola got everything she wanted. One of the things that was really interesting about her was that tremendous need for things out of her grasp. Once that was resolved, there wasn't much left for her to play. Maybe Long could have found something to replace that, but since she wasn't created by Long, she probably preferred to focus on the needy character she created: Reva. They were still significant stockholders. They could have punched back. Vanessa forced to team with the brother she resents. I can see it working.
    • She could have easily tied them into the Cottage Mystery...(they could have easily explained going on adventures with Bea, babysitting) The house that Tony and Annabelle lived in could have been the coachhouse of the property that Qualo and Henry live in, or at the very least Nola would have been totally in on ghosts and secrets of her brother's house. But they kind of just sat around for months.  The clip of Van and Billy's impromptu wedding shows how sidelined Nola and Quint became...Nola isn't even around butting in on them getting married, its all Reva (though it is a more interesting Reva where Mindy and her or going at it and insulting each other..THAT Reva was fun.)  I loved it when those two would go at it. Somehow they could have resurrected that antogonistic relationship and not have Billy worshing at the throne of Reva.  When they brought JC back on recurring they should have had him at least warn Annie about Jeva pulling her down..."Darlin' I love my brother, but when he has ole Reva in his sites he will drop any woman to try to win her back...and then he will get bored with her...she's like booze is to me and you...he hates it but he needs it..get out while you can!"
    • It's been brought up that Empty Nest was a time slot hit. Here's Empty Nest schedule and seasonal rating in comparison to The Golden Girls. 1988/89: The Golden Girls Saturday 9 pm, 6th. Empty Nest Saturday 9:30 pm, 9th. 1989/90: The Golden Girls Saturday 9 pm, 6th. Empty Nest Saturday 9:30 pm, 9th. 1990/91: The Golden Girls Saturday 9 pm, 10th. Empty Nest Saturday 9:30 pm, 7th. 1991/92: The Golden Girls Saturday 8 pm, 30th (final season). Empty Nest Saturday 9 pm, 22nd.  1992/93: Saturday 9 pm, below the Top 30. 1993/94: Saturday 9 pm, below the Top 30. 1994/95: Saturday 8:30 pm then 8 pm, below the Top 30, and cancelled.
