It’s very Disney soundtrack. I just find her very “arrested development,” and that’s not a reference to the Fox sitcom.

Funny thing is, the video made think of the sitcom because there's a lot of attention to detail, a lot of inside stuff the fans will get, the call backs, and clues.  It's more than just a video to the hardcores.  LOL. It adds another element of it being a game, or a puzzle for us.  She knows us.

I love it!   The "me-eeeee.......whoooo-whooo-whooo" is stuck in my mind.  I really how  I put the song with WANEGBT and Shake It off - lead singles that don't have the best lyrics, but they're catchy and fun.    It's certainly a lot better than the previous lead single: LWYMMD (though the video is still my all time favourite of hers).

One of my favourite parts is "Spelling it fun" because loves scrabble and won a spelling bee competition when she was younger.   She's such a dork.  LOL

Oh, wow. She did it again! It sounds like Shake It Off and Blank Space came together and had a baby. I adore the song (so catchy!) and LOVE the video!

Yeah, the music production reminds me a bit of Shake It Off - I think it's the drum beats/marching band.    Another production aspect I really like is the "And there's a lot of cool chicks out there" part - the voice is not as loud and there's a bit of distortion.   The song was produced my Joel Little.  I really like this work with Lorde.  This is Taylor's first time working with him.  It was also Taylor's first time working with Dave Meyers who co-directed the video with Taylor (her first).

"‘ME!’ is a song about embracing your individuality and really celebrating it, and owning it. I think that with a pop song, we have the ability to get a melody stuck in people’s heads, and I want it to be one that makes them feel better about themselves."

Rolling Stone: Taylor Swift’s ‘ME!’: What the Hell Is Going on Here?

At this point, she’s been teasing her new albums with lead singles long enough to show how she likes to do these things. The Taylor Lead Single is a genre unto itself, and “ME!” has all the signs: It’s campy, it’s bubbly, it’s got a spoken-word interlude (“hey kids, spelling is fun!”) and a video loaded with in-jokes. It’s a totally canonical Taylor Lead Single. But the question is: What does it really tell us about the album to come and the new music she’s got up her sleeve?

Keep in mind: The first song Swift debuts is always an outlier. She doesn’t like to give the album’s secrets away too fast. She prefers to throw people off the scent. Why does she like to mess with fans’ minds this way? She just does. “Innocent” from Speak Now (which she debuted at the 2010 VMAs), “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” from Red, “Shake It Off” from 1989, “Look What You Made Me Do” from Reputation—what these songs have in common is that they’re musically far afield from their albums. They’re big thematic statements addressing her public image; they talk about the celebrity Taylor, rather than the personal one. But they usually don’t end up sounding much like the other songs on the album.

......

Nobody enjoys a strategically elaborate album reveal like our girl — no pop star in history has ever made it such an integral part of her artistic evolution. Every album is a huge musical departure, and trying to guess her next move is a sucker’s game. She is never going to make the same album she made last time, and the lead single is never going to spill the tea on where she’s speeding now. A hint, yes; some clues, bien sur; the full story, never.

As they say in France, “Je suis calme,” which translates roughly as “I might be OK but I’m not fine at all,” and the morning after a new Swift song drops is always a mess. Like any Taylor Lead Single, “ME!” is a lot. But there are still a million things we don’t know about this album. And make no mistake, that’s how Taylor wants it.

Taylor just revealed the album title is in the video.  I kind of like this theory:

Oh, it has a video, too? Neat.

I just heard on the radio the other day and lighted it. Made me think of RED.

Taylor knows damn well she can't dance for [!@#$%^&*].  But does she let that stop her?  Apparently not.

Though it broke the record for highest jump on the Hot 100 (#100 last week to #2 this week), it was blocked from the #1 spot by Lil Nas X's 'Old Town Road' which tops the Hot 100 for a fifth consecutive week and is breaking streaming records.

New album will be called "Lover" and it's out August 23rd. Love the title and love the cover!

And here's another new song:

The album title is okay, I guess.  I would've preferred something different.  LOL  Maybe it'll grow on me.   Excited that there's going to be 18 songs - the most she's ever had on an album.

Love the opening beats of YNTCD.  The song is another Joel Little production (with Taylor as co-producer).   I have a feeling that the lyrics "Cause shade never made anybody less gay" will be one of the loudest lyrics yelled out at her concerts.  I also like the progression of "step on my gown" to "step on his gown" to "step on our gown."

I do really like the song, but like Me!, it's not going to be one of my favourites.

Fortunately, Tay-Tay has a good ten more years before she starts looking beyond tired.

No matter what she does, there's always going to be criticism, even when she's doing really good things.  There's always going to be something to pick apart.  It's the takedown culture we live in now.  She's decided to more political now in support of the LGBTQ community, more than she's ever been before (she's always been, but now it's in a big way).   There's the criticism of her being "too late" or "too much" or "extra" about her support, or doing for sales.   Is she going to stop her support once this album cycle is over?  Hell no.   This is just beginning.....and everyone has to start somewhere.

This is something that she truly cares about and is now using her voice to try and get things changed for the better.   I'm always going to be proud of her, and this just makes me love her even more.
