allmc I get that. But haven't the P&G fans had the same prob? I was a big ATWT fan (but not a GL fan since the 90s I admit) and creatively the show was decimated in its last five years, if not longer--in my opinion at least.

I most certainly think the P&G soap fans had the same problem!! That last sentence "As far as things such as boycotting the networks? Well, The PGP soap fans did those things as well!" was supposed to enforce my opinion that PGP soaps went through the same crap, which is why they did things such as boycotting the network. I guess I needed to clarify.

But if she's right, great! Apparently the SoapsinDepth editor and Dan Kroll(?) from Soapcentral both threw out on a podcast last night that they're hearing that this the union issues are non-major, expected to be resolved soon and taping will resume early August-ish. Don't know much about either of their track records- beyond a decade plus of Brenda's back covers from SID.

All Id have to do is put this on social media and people will run with it and spread it like fact. (Heck, SID/SOD would probably make an article about it) Its worse coming from her bc as an actress, they expect her word to carry more weight. If she doesn't know it as fact, then she shouldn't be starting/spreading any rumors

Well considering SID and other bloggers proclaim GH is the second coming? Why is Robin held to a higher standard?

For all we know, there might have been interest to keep GL and ATWT going.. but if P & G were unwilling to lease the rights out.. or even sell them.. then that could be why they were never kept on nor revived.. not cause of a lack of fan interest. I think Crystal Chappel said that most of the cast were willing to take pay cuts, etc if the show moved to the internet but it didn't happen so I'm thinking P & G just wanted to be rid of the soaps but were unwilling to sell them nor lease them to another production company.

I know that ABC wanted to buy Edge of Night.. I know CBS tried to purchase both GL & ATWT as far back as the mid 90s. So interest was always there from other entities.. but P & G refused to sell them.

When it comes to rumours...don't underestimate the stupidity of the fanbase. This is the "What if I don't have internet?" crowd we're talking about.
