We already have EB. We don't need another actor who makes awkward pauses. Why the hell are these crossovers always one sided in recent years? They don't even benefit Y&R. If they need a photographer make Noah take up photography.

I swear Roxie has had more lines this week than she's ever had on the show. I guess she and Devon are sticking around.

Yes, it was a hasty retcon on top of a retcon on top of a retcon. I would rather Liz have returned and told her she was her daughter after all or something. There's no shame in being a Foster!

Maria and her cronies took care of Liz too. sad.png

Doesn't Jill have few nieces through her Foster family? Why doesn't the show try introducing them and have them live in the Chancellor mansion now that it's pretty much empty?

Though, that will require Jess Walton to commute and work more frequently.

LOL! I read about Tyler and Lily so I skimmed through today's episode. I caught those Sharon/Summer scenes. Notice I omitted the bored twosome who might as well as been invisible. Could MS look more disinterested? WTH! In addition to looking stunning, Sharon Case was great and carried those scenes. The actress who plays Summer is not good.

Back to Tyler and Lily. Hysterical how she comes in tipsy with her arm linked with Tyler and waves at everyone. Their faces were funny too.

Sharon does feel tacked on to this paternity story. I wonder if they knew that MS was gone or about to be when these scenes were filmed about six weeks ago. It would explain Sharon's disengagement from Adam and increased scenes with Nick. Unless Sharon and Nick reconnecting that helped them shove out Stafford.

Stafford's obvious boredom and barely controlled eye rolling was pretty funny. She is usually trying to out act and out sexy Sharon Case in their scenes, especially when JM is in them. Although she always fails because Case is a good actress. Plus, she is stunning and sexy without trying very hard, which Stafford is definitely not.

She has Snapper's daughter, Jennifer, who should be a grown woman now. She should be in mid to late twenties. I've always said that they should bring back the Foster/Brooks/Prentiss clan so Jill will have some family on the canvas along with reintroducing Y&R's first set of core families onto the canvas. Then they could have them all occupy the Chancellor mansion and breath new life into it.

Furthermore, has Josh & Jill dug into Y&R's past, they would've made Steve Burton's character either Brooks Prentiss or Chucky Roulland--characters that off bat the long time audience would've cared for because they would've had ties on the show.

I've also stated that they should bring Tucker back for awhile and have him court & marry Jill then bring in a new young buck to gain Tucker's attention (a la Phillip/Jill) and then redo the whole legendary triangle that put the show on the map by killing Tucker then having Jill and this younger woman feud over the mansion, etc.

What is being done to Jill is criminal.

Great idea! I could go for that, but they'd have to re-cast Tucker for it to be believable.

JG did his best but there was no heat between JW and SN. They even looked funny side by side as romantic partners because he's too small framed for her; she looked like she could pick him up. I remember the scene in OTB when Jill and Tucker had dinner with Lilly and Cane. It looked like someone cut the legs off Tucker’s chair; he just looked so tiny between tall broad shouldered Jill and tall Cane. Even as friends SN’s style of playing Tucker manner is to blah for her, he wants to suffer & brood (Heck I thought he was too blah for Ashley). Jill works best with a bolder self-confident man, or one who likes to have some fun. For the story to work the viewers would have to believe Jill really loved & wanted him and the Jill we know wouldn’t want SN’s type Tucker.

I was surprised by that. I have never gotten over how Y&R has wasted Tatyana Ali. She should have been put on contract and featured as a leading lady years ago. She is far more talented than most of the current actresses on Y&R, white and black.

+1

But joining to the jaw dropping line: Roxanne and Devon had DIALOGUE this week!? And scenes that were about THEM!? Was it alternate universe Y&R week?

That said, I'm not deeply invested in them but they are definitely not worse than the constant Dylon propping.

    • Regarding the mobster storyline: The scripts, the cardroom set, and the writing for Joey -- are all terrible. They seem to be writing a realistic depiction of compulsive gambling as an addiction, showing that it pops into his head all the time -- it has become hardwired into his brain.  The APA (American Psychological Association) describes compulsive gambling as having a similar effect on the physical brain as drug and alcohol addiction. https://www.apa.org/monitor/2023/07/how-gambling-affects-the-brain I think Jason Graham (Doug) is doing an adequate job playing Doug as a compulsive gambler, with the thoughts/urges coming into his head all the time, and being unable to stop. However, the cardroom set is awful and the mobster storyline is a bad cliché, so it's all so uninteresting to watch. I think Mr. Graham is doing the best he can with the crap they gave him to work with. If anyone reading or watching has a gambling issue, check out Gamblers Anonymous.  They have many types of meetings -- in-person, online, video, audio, etc.  They also have resources for friends/family of compulsive gamblers.
    • Today was painful (especially for Philip).  I still feel for Xander. He was clear he was happy sharing and working with Philip. It's just one more betrayal from someone he loved. Going back to last year when he found out about Victor and Fiona, then Alex and Philip. He forgave and tried. Then Philip went behind his back again. He's been walking on the edge for weeks. This is a man who was abused, neglected and has never had any therapy for his horrific past. He has zero coping skills because he's never learned them. I hate this but I refuse to hate Xander
    • Lucy Coe wasn't even this big of a whore.
    • Kate being the one that Alex called was a nice surprise. The cut to her looking all sheek made me instantly get excited for her to get back into business mode. And the Jack reference from when she first came to town (on-screen) was inserted naturally which is always welcome. When they were talking about how much sex sells, I almost got the impression they were sizing each other up in a May/December type of way.  All the Philip stuff was gruesome. I'm happy the show isn't shying away from Xander's ugliness. I love them both, and it just makes me intrigued for the aftermath for it all to be taken seriously. I cheered when Philip spat out at that Sarah knew the truth. I'm on tenterhooks for their eventual confrontation. I was surprised that Kate wasn't a little vicious towards Sarah for Xander's obvious behavior, but maybe that's still to come. How wonderfully entangled is it that both Philip and Shawn/Steve stopped each other from getting the drug. Both equally at fault. Who/what will ultimately save Bo? And with everything going on, is a Salem where it's looking likely that EJ is about to own the hospital imminent?
    • Oddly.. Chase and Steve seem to have both vanished from the canvas in December so the Estelle return loses impact when two of her kids stop appearing shortly after her return (and I assume TR leaves in early 1986 as well). The Steve recast doesn't work... but it's odd that he has a long scene with Teri with Cagney looking jealous.. when the majority of his time on the show previously was a relationship and engagement to Stephanie (who he barely has a scene with in the episodes I see). Your idea for Wendy/Bela/Stephanie sounds just like what Ryan's Hope did with Michael/Kim/Rae... and considering Louise Shaffer was playing Rae and Stephanie.. it would have been a lousy redux of a superior story on another soap (that had months of build-up) I think Quinn becoming assistant to Stephanie was Mayer/Braxton... but not 100 % sure. I don't know if Mayer/Braxton was setting up Sarah as a bad girl disguised as a good girl.. but the actress (Joyner) was playing the scenes in that manner.. and Tomlin wisely tapped into that when he took over.
    • She’s such a caricature - which is a shame because I think the actress is capable of so much more.   I don’t know why Cady often feels like she has overcompensated in her performances. She already proved she can play much more than just Dixie Cooley during her first stint at ATWT (her best acting era). Her performances in various roles since then have been quite strange at times.
    • It feels like the show suddenly woke up today and remembered it was Sweeps month. Lots of action and forward momentum, including a delicious Nina/Carly fight.

    • Where did I say that you weren't allowed to say anything? Personally I just find "disgusted" a very strong word, and not something I would use for such a trivial matter as a song contest. You obviously do, and that's your prerogative, just as it is mine to disagree.
