Same. I really like Jane and I want to know more.

I like Erica and love Lucci but I'm not missing her either. I'm not seeing a big gaping hole. Erica being gone has given other characters a chance to come into their own and the show to fix some near fatal flaws. We've been spared yet another round of Erica preening like an ingenue over the latest guy in town. We've been spared another round of Jack and Erica. We've been spared the creation of another dopey fashion/cosmetic business like Fusion or Erica being the hot new host of a show on Chandler Media.

The only hole is see is where Miranda is concerned and if Bianca can come back that would be enough for me. Kendall too provided they don't throw the show down the Zendall sewer again. The only other thing I miss is Erica and Brooke's snark fests.

I agree with everything here. Liked Erica always, loved her at time but I just don't miss her- especially not initially, now that they're teasing Brooke/Dimitri, I would like a visit for some snarking. Someone said a few months back that she takes up serious bandwith in the AMC universe and I think that's accurate. Especially given the ep reduction, I think her absence gave others (like Opal) some overdue time in the sun.

Yay, more members for the Jane fan club! I was hoping she would be a secret evil person but it doesn't sound like it.

I wonder how much they changed the Celia story now that Heather confirmed there were "some changes" to her story and hers and the Celia stories were the only ones drastically cut.

Makes sense that they would hold off on jane's story until season 2.. especially if the initial story was something the new head-writers were not in favor of.. plus wondering if Celia's story will be altered as well since all of her story scenes have been cut. We shall find out after next weeks episodes.

When my mom refers to Celia, she refers to her as Tara Jr... and from what I've read, it seems to fit. Shame Miranda is too wishy washy, cause she should be the Erica to Celia's Tara... not Colby..jmho

I hope they don't rely on BIG RETURNS, they should focus on the cast they have as the series is in a really good place right now. I'd MAYBE take Tad back for Dixie but really don't see the need for Erica right now, unless Bianca and Kendall come back. I do think, however, that Griffin should be on more as Cara's story kicks into gear.

ITA. The show had a very solid first season. I'd rather they concentrate on shoring up the few weak spots like Griffin and Bianca's absences and dealing with the Adam issue which I consider to be the show's biggest challenge.

ICAM with both of you. I thought it was a great first season and while I'd like to see Tad, Griffin and Bianca back full time, I'd rather Erica just pop in for occasional appearances. I also think the big reveal will either be about when Season 2 starts or that OWN is going to continue carrying it and possibly help finance the show so they can air more than 2 episodes per week.

FYI I posted that last comment about my mistake not because I take back everything I said but because when I did it the board when crazy but it seems as if more people are agreeing with me so I can try to restate my opinion.

Anyway, I think the AMC-less Erica has been good for the show. Agnes tried to root the show back to its "Small Town" feel back in 1999 with characters like Becca or whoever but that didn't work. Erica not being here makes Pine Valley seem like a "Medium-Small" town, meaning more populous than 70's AMC but less so than 80s plus AMC. So basically, it is a an upscale Suburb and like many upscale areas there tends to be a small town feel.

Point I am trying to make is, is that Erica would seem out of place because she is all over the world and making movies, at least that has been implied, so her coming back here would be kinda odd. Plus at the end of the last series she said "Pine Valley is still not the corner of Hollywood and Vine" and since she has been gone for 5 years this proves she may have finally been able to move on. Also, she really doesn't have much family in PV except for Mirranda. But that is how a lot of real life situations are. In a lot cases the grandparent lives far away from the grand kids. Unless they found a way to bring Mark/Ellen/Kendall/Beinaca back full time and haver Erica be the matriarch I don't think she would fit in. That said, they could always have her be in NYC like during the 80s.

I used to love Erica back in the 1980s & 1990s, but her absence isn't leaving a big gaping hole at all. Imo, there was too much emphasis on the Kanes, especially Erica & Kendall, for the last 10 years or so on ABC. I would like to see Erica return briefly mainly to address what's happening between Brooke & Dimitri.

I'm eagerly awaiting the finale just to see if Celia & Jane's stories were rewritten, which is what I've been suspecting since so many of their scenes were cut.

I don't mind Colby being the Erica to Celia's Tara, but then I'm rooting for Miranda to be a one-guy kind of girl when she finally tells AJ she loves him.

Wow. Bye.

IA. AMC needs the Kane's, especially Erica and I think Tad needs to return. There's a glaring hole with their absences

Finally, someone has spoken the REAL truth.

People talk about how so and so is the heart and soul of a show, but to me Erica was the life of AMC. She had such screen presence and gave the canvas so much personality and fire. Im digging the show but its just not the same without her. Its hard to explain but I think she's needed to help it "pop" so to speak. Erica Kane defines All My Children. Good effort without her, but its like someone attempting to recreate a recipe. The cake tastes good enough but its obvious the special ingredient is missing.

Did we ever see the location shoot stuff with AJ & Miranda camping ( http://blog.ctnews.com/culturecache/2013/05/13/all-my-children-spends-day-at-the-beach/ ) ?

I remember in one episode at the end of July Zach brought Miranda back to the Chandler's and AJ had a bunch of camping gear ready in the foyer. But I don't remember any follow-up on it.

On an unrelated production note I noticed in this week's credits that David Kreizman's wife is now an associate director on the show.

Yikes!!

I think she is pretty highly-regarded.

It did give me a startle when I saw "Kreizman" though lol. Let's just hope Dave stays employed with the WWE.

Cheap I respect your opinion, but how is there a glaring hole? This version of AMC feels like a whole different show, and the Kane's are really not needed full time. I like that other characters besides Kendall & Erica get a chance to shine
