Do you have any inkling how fuckin' ridiculous you sound when you say that but call anyone who likes what you don't part of a "cult?"

I have been here long enough to remember exactly how to tell you to sit the !@#$%^&*] down.

So you don't see anything insane in Cady portraying the grandmother of a teenager or the mother of a 40-year old man? wacko.png

Are they weak ass speeches only if you don't agree with them? lol

I have read several critical posts written by you over the years. Were they pathetic as well? Someone should give it a rest because you happen to disagree now? blink.png

A very wise man once said:

So your major issue if I read right is that some fans dont feel the way you do. Well they dont have to feel the way you do. Everyone is ENTITLED to their own opinion. That is why its called an OPINION.

Oh, really, be a grown up. You know that's not what I said. What I said was, it's no more or less ridiculous on PP than it was when I was dealing with the age issue between Dixie and the adult J.R.s on ABCD. It's not a new issue, and it would've cropped up on the show on ABCD in 2-3 years' time anyway. You're just pretending it is a unique problem on the new show so that you can piss and moan about your personal beef with people who like something you don't, and pretend you're being persecuted by virtue of simply posting incessantly about how you are being persecuted. They are, in fact, two different things.

No, they're weak because of the kind of cognitive dissonance I just indicated above. In this case, this long-standing issue is suddenly a big, crippling problem for you because it's the online show, and the online show is what you are really mad at. That's nice, but it's really not my problem or anyone else's. You seem intent on making it our problem by claiming everyone is shouting you down and silencing you. But it's obvious I couldn't possibly silence you if I tried.

I get it, Elsa, I do: You're pissed that you're in the minority in these threads, you're pissed at the discussion trends in these threads, you're pissed that people like something you don't and you want to make it clear that not everyone agrees. You're welcome to feel how you like. You are not welcome to tell me how I think or why I think the way I do, or why it's intrinsically inferior to your opinion and make all sorts of personal judgments because you're too insecure to accept being a minority in a thread. If I had a problem being a minority opinion in a discussion thread I would've left this shithouse years ago. I don't sit around trying to nail myself to the cross over it. Get over it.

Fonts aren't helping your argument.

The image of a woman who looks like a sexy 35 year old playing the grandmother to a teenager is something that will be discussed whether you like it or not. You have always been one of the most judgemental posters on this board, I don't get why reading different opinions makes you so upset...

I don't have a vendetta against online soaps. They are all online soaps to me because I watch from another country. There is no reason to have another online nervous breakdown.

Is there such thing as a Soap Anger Management Class? Getting mad on a Soap Board on a daily basis is... interesting :)

Elsa, you pissed me off because you've spending post after post doing nothing but talking about yourself and other people while pretending you're talking about the soaps. If you want to whine about how people disagree with you and how any kind of dissent makes you feel small and insecure, then just say so and stop wasting our time with the pretense of anything else. All I'm hearing from you is "I, me, me, you guys," and "cult." When personal attacks and blanket statements are your opening argument, why should I bother taking you seriously as though we're actually having any kind of critical discussion? You don't want a critical discussion - you want to vent about people.

OMG, please stop the madness!

Where?! Where did this happen!? When? Did it happen before or after you were all "Well, I don't think that the PP soaps are THE GREATEST THINGS TO HAVE EVER HAPPENED TO SOAPS EVERRRRRR like sooooome people think. *beat* Aaaaaaand, I don't think SWEAR WORDS make them cool either, like some people think!! But...." because people are enjoying the shows?

THANK YOU!! I stopped getting involved in petty SON drama ages ago (scratch that -- openly involved), but this is just too ridiculous. No one called her a hater or anything else for not being ecstatic about these shows, yet because I don't mind hearing the word "sh!t" on a soap, I'm a "cool kid" who's lording some kind of status over poor little her. Girl, bye.

    • I have seen little of Wally, but I always think of the backstage story Julia Barr (I think it was Julia) told where he hated his character and storylines so much that at one point he put some form of clown makeup on in his dressing room to show his feelings.

        Understandable
    • She's beyond awful. She needs to be sent away. We know that's not going to happen.
    • I knew that was the Manhattan skyline in the background  That’s one of the best parts of this; their relationship can go either way. Though I’m hoping that they’ll eventually find their way back to each other
    • I don't remember ANYTHING with Devon and Cliff! I do remember Liza fixated on him (around the time Angel Haining took over the role briefly as Marcy Walker left for Santa Barbara!), but not a thing about Devon. Shows how memorable it was. LOL! I do have a very hazy memory with Devon and...Wally, was it? I think that was his name, Devon's husband! (Mom watched AMC from jump, and wee little me got into it!) But I do remember poor Tricia Pursley just played Devon as a sad sack.
    • Since we need to see Tide placed in the show at least 4 times a week, Derek should be acknowledged as what happens when one accepts the Tide Pod Challenge.
    • No mention of Hope and Carter's Insta romance?   I skimmed through today's episode.   It was a status quo, pointless episode.
    • I agree that the costume designer has done well in giving characters a specific look-I just don't like Kat's! But I will concede defeat on this one... Now that the show is well established I am thinking about some of the choices mad re occupations and settings. I don't expect a soap to be a documentary but the workplace can be fertile ground for story, character interactions and to add a sense of realism. It's getting a little Y&R with people meeting up at eateries. Making Derek a firefighter seems pointless-he should have been a cop working with Jacob.Would have given him more airtime and purpose. Martin is supposedly an up and coming politician but we have no evidence of that. Maybe his office should have been a set-and some other characters work there. Jan could have worked there in some capacity, or maybe Ashley instead of being a nurse. Vernon could spend time there offering his expertise-which could lead to conflict with his grandson. Same with the Real estate business-we don't see Vanessa in that role. She would have more credibilty if we saw her at work. Ashley or Smitty might work there etc, with discussions of the business -listings, attending viewings etc Andre does real estate photography. Maybe Naomi could work for her father and they could have workplace battles. Discussing cases with Tomas and her dad. And we need to see Nicole at work. Finishing up with a client etc And for Chelsea and Kat some actual evidence of setting up the'purse line' Realizing how difficult it is to get a foothold. I like the idea of having a server at Orphey's being a wise 'talk to' for various characters. Just more effective use of the characters... What are your thoughts after several months of shows?
    • Finally, Days is a soap opera about drama. Wednesday's episode is soapy goodness.
    • https://www.vulture.com/2018/06/day-of-compassion-aids-tv-special-history.html In the spring of 1992, One Life to Live sent two of its newest characters on a collision course. The small fictional town of Llanview could be a tough place to be queer, and as rumors began to circulate about young Billy Douglas (Ryan Phillippe, in his first-ever screen role), Reverend Andrew Carpenter (Wortham Krimmer) was a rare sympathetic ear for the teenager. Some Llanview residents eventually opened their minds and put aside their bigotries, though Billy’s father wouldn’t do the same, and the story line culminated in Reverend Carpenter bringing a portion of the Names Project AIDS Memorial Quilt to Llanview, to which he added a panel for his brother, a gay man who died from AIDS-related complications. Watching from home, a young actor named Neil Tadken was inspired. HIV had been decimating marginalized populations (particularly queer people of color, trans people, and sex workers) for over a decade, but it was still mostly taboo in scripted television. If One Life to Live could bring the AIDS crisis to the airwaves, why couldn’t more shows? And why not all at once? Tadken began writing letters and making phone calls, and a year later, on June 21, 1993, the Day of Compassion was born: a day where AIDS and HIV-related programming could be found on multiple daytime TV shows across multiple channels. This Pride month marks the 25th anniversary of the project. [See the link for the rest. Too long to paste in.]
