All the characters wind up doing incredibly stupid or out of character things because they have to be "here" for "that" to happen. It's the Hallmark of Ron Carlivati storytelling. Because he sucks. I have to admit, I smiled ear to ear when I saw her onscreen for the first time. I haven't been excited for a story on GH (that doesn't include Skye) in a long long time. Though they prob would have mentioned she claimed he was the King of the Vampires, that seems like something, especially a tabloid like The Sun (which I assumed would be a low rent New york Post) would publish.
