WTF!!!!!

EXCLUSIVE: Here is a great holiday gift for soap fans: I’ve learned that Prospect Park has revived its plan to continue cancelled ABC daytime dramas All My Children and One Life To Live online. I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

So I am assuming there was no breaking news today about AMC or OLTL. February is right around the corner so I am expecting there to be a firestorm of info very soon.

I'm hoping for info soon. It looks like last night was another crazy one on here.

If I had my druthers, OLTL 2.0 would "rest" Blair, Bo, Clint, Destiny, Jack, Jessica, Matthew, Natalie, Nora, Sam, Tea and Victor. (John, Starr, and Todd could remain permanently on GH.) Dorian and Viki would remain, of course, but I'd bring back Kevin and Joey, along with a slightly older Adriana who could become involved with the Buchanan boys. Then, to make things a little more interesting, I'd introduce a new, female character who could turn the whole thing into a quadrangle. That way, you could include non-core characters, such as Rama, as well as a few choice characters from years gone by.

That's a great list, imo. I think Bo and Blair are both played out, to me JVD was never Clint anyway and I just never liked Natalie and Tea. I'd love for Viki's family to be shored up with her sons instead of her daughters for a change!

Depending on how this all goes down, the sets may also be shared, so the writers may have to find matching sets - Chandler Mansion for Llanfair, Dorian's Penthouse for Erica's Penthouse, Banner Offices for Tempo Offices, etc. IMO, the shows will definitely share more utility types sets like police station, hospital, possibly restaurants.

I could see that working if they used the basic set but changed most of the decor for each show so it wasn't too obvious.

Yeah Jamie should definitely be on the show. If they don't at least talk to David Canary and Julia Barr, I'm gonna go apeshit.

I like these ideas. My cast would be Adam, Brooke, Jamie, Tad, Dixie, Opal, Angie, Jesse, Frankie, David, Cara, Donna, Chuck, Mark, Ellen, Erica, Bianca and Julie Chandler.

I said it before but I'll say it again, the shows need to be completely rebooted. It's been nearly 2 years for AMC this September (if the show doesn't premiere until May, which is ridiculous if it starts filming in February, there's no rule they HAVE to be 3 months ahead) and 1 year for OLTL. Just tie up some loose ends and "start over". Rebuild the core families with solid, workable units mixed with familiar faces, old familiar faces and new faces. Treat it like you're starting this shows up but we have the history and the acceptance. AMC has the Martins (Tad leads the way), Tylers (Chuck could lead the way), Hubbards (Angie and Jesse already in place), Chandlers (Brooke can represent both with Adam and Stuart hopefully appearing on a recurring basis), Kanes (Bianca could toe the line for now, though I'd love Mark back) and they have a newer family, whether you like them or not, in the Castillo's and tying Cara to David Hayward definitely worked. They have their own little unit. You also have Julie, who has ties to the Chandler/Kanes, that should be a gold mine right there. Not to mention Kelsey Jefferson, Bobby Warner, Jamie Martin, all virtually clean slates, even though some have a little history. Not to mention Frankie Hubbard, they could recast Cassandra. Tim Dillon. Make him a cop and have Janet make appearances, maybe even eventually have her become somewhat sane again and able to live in Pine Valley. IDK. AMC has amazing potential.

100% agree. Some of these characters just need to take BREATHERS. There is so much that can be mined from characters gone too soon...and most weren't even killed off. Just plain ratchet the level of waste of characters and their potential that come and go in soaps.

Didn't they just get over a year long breather? I'm a little worried that if people don't see the characters they were invested in when the show ended, they won't tune in. I'd happy to see old faces again, in the long run too.

I completely agree! They need familiar faces, there are no characters that need to take a break, especially not vets. People aren't going to tune in for characters they barely know

A year ago I was actually almost interested in watching that show. Ten million repetitious GIFs in the wrong place later, I wish both myself and everyone involved in the program were dead.

It's not funny when they're posted 25 times a day, 300 times a week, and there are only like 6 to begin with. And none of the people in them are you.

Wrote for one of the soaps in the last five years (won't say in which capacity). Did tremendous work and won an award for their efforts.
