Why is it a character is only a stereotype if they're black or gay or both, but not if they're neither of the two

Are you really asking why portrayals of white straight people aren't accused of being stereotypes? First, that's a faulty premise (see: complaints about stereotyping in The Sopranos or Jersey Shore). Second, do we really need to have a discussion about stereotyping and tokenism in the entertainment industry in general and soaps in particular? Really?

Did you expect any different from this show? No matter who's writing GENERAL HOSPITAL, one fact will remain true: Sonny Corinthos always will come out smelling like a rose.

Carly too (in recent years). AJ never had any purpose for returning otherwise, most likely. It's why I'm still expecting him to cause a hostage crisis within six months.

Amen. And yes I've seen the Italians on this show complained about and I even complained about Sonny being stereotyped as Italian when he's not even Italian.

For years when I'd tell people I was from NJ, they immediately thought I was a mobster. In more recent years, they think I'm down on the Jersey Shore pumping fists.

Two grown ass men yelling at each other to stay away from another grown ass man is absurd. They act as if they're fighting over a woman.

The story with Faison, Duke and Anna is just too campy. The fact that Anna knows Faison is alive and RC still has leeway to continue Faison impersonating Duke is mind boggling.

Hated that AJ manipulated Michael because it proves Sonny and Carly right.

Carly pretty much told you the way this was gonna go in Friday's eppy. The "poor AJ" was not going to last forever because it's baseless. I said this from the word go, and I'm going to be looking for validation from a few of you really soon - you know who you are

Not sipping RC's Kool-Aid much anymore. Plus, with the news that was released today. I don't expect one of my faves to be returning for a while. If RC was going to write him back in anyways. I think I may take a much needed GH break on the days that Lucy or AJ isn't set to be on.

This Duke/Anna/Fake-On [!@#$%^&*] just keeps getting worse. That was definitely Fake-On bacon at the end of today's show. Right back in the Duke mask. Right back tryin' to get in Anna's panties.

I hear that my AJ played Sonny like a fiddle today and that the only way that Sonny and he could see eye-to-eye was when Sonny was standing in the boxing ring while he was standing on ground level.
