A mild-mannered, self-controllable writer would have handled this in a fashionable way, maybe even going on the record to admit the character needs to be toned down a notch. Instead, Ron goes & blows his gasket.

As Agnes Nixon once said about Paul Rauch to Ellen Holly: "Nothing that man does surprises me."

Why does the character need to be toned down? Maybe because I'm a 24 year old gay black man living in Atlanta, I'm just not seeing the same thing as some of you.

Oh, wait, Felix's last name is "DuBois"? I wonder if he is related to...

I was thinking more along the lines of the character on GH:NS, Toussaint Dubois, played by Billy Dee Williams.

Why does the character need to be toned down?

Some characters are obnoxious, he's one of them, as is Todd.

Naw. Let him keep showing his ass. I have to admit that I kind of enjoy watching the long, slow, Norma Desmond style trainwreck that he's turning into.

Obnoxious? He was the opposite of obnoxious in his one episode appearance so far. He was cheery, happy and helpful. How does that equate to being obnoxious? Someone like Britt, Tracy or Todd as you mentioned is obnoxious. Felix was hardly spreading misery and being unpleasant

I will jump in as a black, gay, L'Oreal True Match Super-blendable powder wearing male and PROUD ANTI-RON CARLIVATI GH watcher to say... I saw nothing wrong with Felix. Between Felix and Sabrina, I think Sabrina is the worst "stereotype." A girl, who is a student nurse, that blushes like she's 12 whenever Patrick comes around shirtless? A student nurse that doesn't know how to brush her hair? A woman in her early 20s that never applied LIPSTICK before? THAT'S the stereotype I have a problem with.

I like Felix. The actor is selling it. The writing... sucks, but I know characters like the Felix character. I just think Carlivati failed in having Felix wield his CoeCoe lipstick while in scrubs. That's a scene that could've been played in the locker room. He could've reached into his locker and pulled it out from his murse -- which I have, as well.

ETA: Heeeeey, Xavier!

I MISSED YOU.

And fully agree. Glad to see I'm not alone, as there seems to be a LOT of Ron-Kool-Aid being drunk these days.

The whole thing has been horribly written from the start, and Felix is just the icing on the cake.

Here's the deal: I, too, am an openly gay, Black man. No, I don't carry lipstick in my pocket, and I don't give insta-makeovers either. But that's because it isn't in my personality or nature to do so. I couldn't fault someone like Felix because it's in his nature anymore than he could fault me for it not being in mine. As R Sinclair said, there are levels and there are layers.

I say, let the damn story play itself out. Who knows? Perhaps Felix has a partner who's the butchiest butch who ever butched, but who loves and adores Felix because he knows him beyond the makeup tips and queeny dialogue. Perhaps, through his eyes, we, too, will be allowed to see those different sides to his personality. However, if time proves the naysayers correct, and Felix is nothing more than a collection of the most negative assumptions about gay men in general and gay Black men in particular...well...we know what to do, don't we?

Frankly, I'm more concerned that Ronnie C. had any character, let alone Felix, pull out a tube of lipstick as some sort of foreshadowing for

Lucy's big return

. To me, that's just bad storytelling, with and without the added controversy.
