The last two episodes (technically today's US episode and tomorrow's US episode), were noticeably sparse with the contemporary cues. But, I still think they're in the "testing phase" with the music.

What makes the contemporary cues stand out is that they use them alongside the classic cues (often in the middle portion of episodes), so it highlights how different and/or lackluster they are.

I still think the most noticeable change with this regime so far in terms of the day to day is the directing. It's gotten tighter and more fluid, and they've started shooting sets from angles I haven't seen before.

That scene where Victor tells Jack that he may have Jabot, Beauty of Nature, Newman, but drove away his family, that scene would have been even better had the writers remembered he has a son Keemo he hasn't seen in years either.

Well the scenes where everybody including Nick talk about Jack helping raise Nick would be even better if anyone acknowledged Nick boning Jack's wife.

Jack has to have surgery because the bullet has moved close to his spine. He wants to put it off because he isn't secure with Newman Enterprises yet. So Adam and Phyllis team up to help run Newman in his absence.

That's the trouble with living in the age of the metrosexual, I think. The more effeminate these types are to some, the more our gaydars ping incorrectly.

I think it's also because any time a teenage male character on a soap is "troubled," people will assume he must be gay. Since Noah has never had an actual storyline, other than vague "troubles" which are soon dropped, and since some fans have assumed he was gay from very early on (this was a running joke with the boy who played Noah before he was aged), I guess it's something people convince themselves of.

So and so young male character being gay is a running joke with just about every little boy on soaps well except AJ Chandler. What are they basing the "he must be gay" suspicions off of when the boy is under 13?

I don't know if they're heading towards Adam/Sharon again, but nothing about them feels romantic to me.

It feels like Adam is using Sharon as his muse in order to brainwash her completely.

It doesn't feel romantic at all and it feels like Sharon will be checking herself in to the mental ward soon.

And his convo to Noah the other day was as delusional as Phyllis' words to Christine.

Victoria is acting more Victoria-like in Monday's US show than she has in about 5 years.

Too bad Heinle is still flat as hell in her delivery. She sounds and acts like a 4 year old who was denied candy by her parents.

I will say though, for the first time in a long time, I enjoyed Phyllis and Jack in Monday's US episode. Stafford was actually acting again, Bergman too.

It's good to hear that there are some improvements happening with this show. In my mind, I've already skipped ahead to thinking about how the show will take shape once Jill and Neil finally have some storyline, so it won't just be about the Newman's and bits of Jack.
