Yay! Finally it's confirmed! I hope to see Susan too which also makes me hope Tomlin/Whitesell bring back their wacky humour like they did on Sunset Beach and OLTL. As for Kristen, she needs to be in John/Marlena's orbit at first, then you can her in another direction afterwards. It's not a knock on Eileen. It's just the last set of returns barely budged the radar. The last actor/actress to really nudge the Nielsens was Vanessa Marcil when she returned to GH several years back. What did their ratings go up by, about 3/4 point?

The only actress I think could move the Nielsen meter is Genie Francis if they announced she was going back to GH to reunite Luke with Laura. And even then, I have to wonder if THAT ship has sailed. (Shrugs)

The Luke and Laura ship sailed. She did bump ratings when she came back in 2006 for their 25th anniversary. He last return did nothing.

The fact is most viewers have moved on. The only advantage Kristian has is they haven't brought her back a zillion times already but unless they do something fresh and not the SSDD ratings won't move an inch.

I'm very happy for Eileen! I might have to start watching Days again since she is returning.

I agree, the card has to be played, but not in the same way. I don't want to see post menopausal Deidre Hall, menopausal Eileen Davidson and in-need-of-Viagra Drake Hogestyn in a love triangle. To quote JFP nobody wants to see old people kissing. Those 3, for a romantic triangle, are played out to the hilt.

That said, the Kristin/Marlena feud and the Kristin/John obsession are definitely useful story beats. They should have Kristin out on a warpath to destroy John and Marlena, it'll last a year and be awesome, simple as that.
