I didn't know most of the characters name. I'm checking out the ABC syllabus as I write.

As a casual viewer getting back into the show after a long break, I thought this was a pretty good winter finale. Their was a little of everything. Good soap opera.

I don't love Deacon. I don't hate him ether. I'm not that into him. I just feel that he's a bit of a drama queen character. Perils. Perils. Perils. Don't know if I liked that liver disease (cancer) twist.

Surprise (minor) twist: It was Teddy, not Deacon, who helped Maddie with the song. Aw.

I liked Rayna calling off the wedding. Good, believable build up to it. It was inappropriate to do it the day of the wedding but I guess chit happens. Connie & Will did a good job with those scenes. The wise direction to take from here is to keep Rayna single for a good while - romance wise slowly feel out her relationships with both Teddy and Deacon.

Selfish Will and Selfish Jeff toying with Layla causing her spiral into that pool sad.png

The Juliette and Avery twist was really nice. The juxtapose with the Rayna and Luke fiasco was point on.

Gunnar finding out he's his boys uncle, not his father? Is Gunnar's brother dead? It'll be interesting to see where they take this in terms of the custody issue.

Scarlett, lol, poor thing just walking around spontaneously crying for her male friends.

Too bad so sad...Luke's over...time for Rayna to move on to a man that doesn't try to micromanage her life.

I figured the kid was Gunnar's nephew, not son a few weeks ago

Bye, Layla !! No more whining from her...

Glad Lucky and Lizzie Spaulding I mean Avery and Juliette finally worked it out.

Can those girls learn a new song? How many weeks have they sang that song.

At least on the show there isn't a country awards show every other week![unlike real life!]

Really, a hot guy like Teddy can't get laid w/o paying? Eric Close must wonder why his girl isn't a hooker!

Poor Deacon...rolls eyes...another problem...

True Teddy is the hottest mid age guy on the set and it's unreal that he's feeling this desperate.

I did appreciate the slow build up to Rayna changing her mind. I love how it was evident to me from the get go that something was off/wrong about their relationship but it was slowly dawning on her throughout the last few weeks and especially on last night's episode.

And I don't get why Will felt the need to sleep with that girl. I mean he could have easily said I'm happily married to my wife...go somewhere prostitute. Instead he just caved like a little punk. And now the girl is probably going to be pregnant. But now I'm venturing into soap territory which I doubt the show will go....

I don't know what it is about this show but I keep getting sucked back in for various reasons. Scarlet for some reason just touches my soul. Her performance honoring her mother was so powerful. Love the heffa. I hope she finds real happiness by the time the show ends.

I"m so over Will and this constant rollercoaster he's on. I thought he had something special with the guy from last season and now they bring in this Kevin guy who he also chemistry with. And now he's throwing him out like garbage. I get that he wants to perform but he has to know deep down that coming out was going to change things.

Well, I spoke too soon. Just finished watching the winter finale.

They have barely touched all the interesting possibilities in the canvas. And, honestly, if I didn't know any better, I'd say that was the finale of the show. The four "young'n's" were toasting at the bar; Deacon proposes to Rayna.

And who was the blond that showed up out of no where and offered to write with Maddie?

When does the show come back? Will Juliette be back by then? What about "Jem?"

    • I found it to be a rather odd way to deal with a character departing for parts unknown.
    • Today reminded me as to why I’m a little disappointed in the name that the new Pope chose

Luckily, EJ and Johnny, and pretty much every other character saved today’s episode.  I didn’t expect Javi to be the one to save Sarah though, and I don’t mind it at all, because if it means that Javi is finally going to get his own identity/character, away from his douchy bf, I’m all for it. Javi’s scenes would’ve been a lot better had it not been for him. EJ and Johnny were the best part of today. Their conversation hit a lot of important beats and I’m so looking forward to seeing them play out. And now that EJ knows that Johnny is going to work for Xander, that opens up another dynamic to their storyline and to the Kiriakis family storylines as well. Tying them all together could be really good. There are so many story possibilities that can come out of this. And I thought Carson Boatman did a pretty good job again too.  I also liked that Johnny was there to comfort Chanel after everything that happened with Sarah. They’re so good together. But I do have mixed feelings about Chanel possibly forgiving Johnny so quickly. Hopefully, the question that she asked him at the end of today leads to more conflict for the two of them.  And yeah, still no changes in Alex’s character lol
    • Awesome, thanks so much for taking the time to grab the episode. I had a quick review of your rip because I was curious why it was 700MB and 30 minutes. The first 10 minutes of the episode is 3169 (opening credits at 5 minutes and again at 15 minutes). The full HD version of ep.3170 is on YouTube channel:

    • That's a name I haven't heard in a minute. Thanks!
    • Well, since I'm still up unexpected past my growing-into-it bedtime. lol.   I finally got to rewatch Monday's. I even rewatched Friday's to take it all in. Now that we got the reveal and hit the climax of the SilkPress Sheila storyline, now we get to watch the aftermath and/or turns that come with its climax. So far, so good. Friday left us with three cliffhangers. And what I found surprising was how I felt about them over a rewatch.    I know some of you all felt a way about the dialogue during Kat vs Eva. I remember liking it more the first time around and it was nice for them to have these scenes to establish more of a frenemy vibe for them going forward. That still held up. But I found myself agreeing with you all about that dialogue. lol. Still, it was nice to have both of their POVs.   Second up was Silk Press Sheila vs the Duprees. And I was happy to get a brief spat with Dani in there. But the rest standouts for me was Anita and Martin. Haters can hate and given the tail end of the episode, I will agree to a fault, but Brandon has impressed and he was on fire on Monday and had great subtle work on Friday. And that subtle work made it all the better. Like I believe I said when I was watching...BC has a much better grip on his character and seems to be realizing what his tics are so has started to be able to know when to turn it up and when to dial it down. And for the most part (emphasis on most), he got that. Meanwhile, TT was giving fierceness, and I was here for every minute of it. Her reading SilkPress. Her being quip about it. Her 'BE STILL.' Ooooo she had a chokehold on me as Anita gave what I was expecting her to SilkPress. WORTH THE WAIT. I also loved Vernon's CHOOSE SILENCE. I wonder though if SilkPress will figure out Martin's condition from her observing Anita and Vernon with him.   And speaking of worth it...Oooo YES Nicole vs Ted was worth totally worth it. Oooooo I knew DD would nail it, and it was all so well done. The fight between the part of Nicole who is a therapist vs Nicole as a woman who wants to express how she feels. And being so angry. And how there would be moments when it would shoot out of her. And how she would restrain herself. But how she felt she should not be restrain. Just the levels of processing and layers. And DD played it all so well. I do wish Maurice gave just a little bit more, but overall, I thought he did a good job even if it was just Ted coming across as a deadbeat and not at all redeemable. And Kat being there for her mother was so beautiful.   Minority, but I love the montage though yes, it did run a little long. Given how the Duprees like to bond (and also as I mentioned from my own very recent family experiences), it did not seem out of place to me.     That said...let's see how the aftermath worked in today's episode. Overall. Cuz RC can be hit or miss.
    • I wonder whose brilliant (

) idea it was to do an almost complete rip-off of the "who killed Tom King"-storyline. That's some quality style writing right there.....
