MW...oh how I missed her. She was phenomenal in the role and had such charm and appeal. She actually had chemistry with MB and I loved the way Kate carried herself under her. The character currently is a hot mess and a complete waste. KS only does alright when she is playing Connie and thats bc I dont take her seriously and view her as the joke that she is.

See i thought Megan Ward was a good actress and the character a breath of fresh air compared to the skanks (sorry) the rest of the show highlights. She was gorgeous and had an air of sophistication about her. Of course a pairing with Sonny is a death sentence so when that went away so did she. And she was the type of character I knew would never last on the show. I think they wanted to trash her up a bit and make her more Connie from Brooklyn than Kate from Manhattan so they recast. And the recast just never caught on.

Oh, SHUT THE HELL UP! This is getting tired, this martyr complex you seem to have when it comes to OLTL and FV/RC vs. GH and Guza/JFP. Here's a newsflash... People who actually WATCHED General Hospital the last 9 years Guza and Phelps were in control were NOT giving praise to the writing and acting. There have been NUMEROUS complaints about the lack of respect given to the true actors on this show and the true veteran characters of this show. There have been NUMEROUS complaints about Guza's "hack" writing. There have been NUMEROUS complaints about JFP's heartless treatment of actors and characters of a certain age and/or era.

Nobody is giving anybody from the OLTL transplant camp any less or more grief than they gave the failures from GH's permanent camp.

THE FACT IS Starr Manning and all of her tearless crying and drama haven't added anything more to this show.

THE FACT IS Frank and Ron haven't performed magical wonders and restored this show to its former luster.

THE FACT IS Frank and Ron are incorporating every single aspect they'd brought to One Life to Live to General Hospital -- and fans of General Hospital who didn't like/watch OLTL are noticing that and are complaining based on the concept that this show is NOT the General Hospital they know and is turning into a show that they didn't watch for a reason.

There is no "bandwagon." Nobody's "hating" on FV/RC GH and their OLTL transplants because it's the trendy thing to do. It's based on the fact that the GH audience was sold a bill of goods and are not seeing the show being treated with respect -- especially during these waning 18 months left (thanks to the alleged reprieve). When they were told Anna Devane was coming back, they didn't expect her to basically NOT GRIEVE for her dead child. When they were told Robert Scorpio was coming back, they didn't expect him to ditch his dead daughter's funeral. When they were told Holly Scorpio was coming back, they didn't expect her to stand in one spot for a week's worth of shows. When they were told that Carlivati knew GH's history, they didn't expect him to write Luke and Anna as best friends when they barely know each other, nor did they expect that Mac would suddenly be referred to as Maxie's uncle -- repeatedly -- when he's actually her stepfather and ONLY father she's really known and referred to him as such for YEARS!

So, please! Get off the cross! Please accept the fact that GH fans DO have reason to complain and be disgruntled over the OLTL transplants (character and production wise) and their lack of consideration to WHAT this show is! Hopefully, RC/FV will get their act together over the next 17 months... however, until then, people have legitimate reasons to be dissatisfied with these people running this show.

    • They weren't in town, but Fletcher worked at the paper (and we saw anniversary headlines for the 50th, although I don't remember if Roger was one of them), and I'd think Alex would have at least heard of him due to the damage he did to Spaulding only a few years before her return to the fold. I know I have to remember it's not real life, of course.
    • YES. The videos being uploaded to Spauldingfield are almost to the point where Alan is reintroduced. They're already talking about the guy he pretends to be, and yes, he returns at a masked ball. In fact, that masked ball is almost beat for beat the same as the masked ball where Alex was introduced! Get a new schtick. Before the Kobe era, that's pretty much what they did. Characters would just show up. Maybe other characters would talk about them for a while--the Chamberlains, Tony, Maureen, Andy, Kelly, Carrie--but then they would just appear. When Hope came back, she simply knocked on Bert's door and said something like, "Hi, Grandma, I'm home again." No particular fanfare. Sometimes it would be a bit dramatic--Jennifer and Morgan were introduced when Mike accidentally crashed into their car, for instance, and Alan and Elizabeth were introduced through Jackie's flashbacks when she was remembering giving up Phillip for adoption. Nola was involved in the Roger return. Roger's return in 1980 was very dramatic, but in a way that made total sense. He was trying to kidnap a child, so dressing up as a clown did not seem crazy. The mask bit was not only silly, it didn't even make sense. Alex never knew him, so there was no reason for him to be masked in front of her. And he didn't have to be skulking around SF for months. Again, I will cut Long a little slack--it was not her idea to bring back Roger, she was told to do it. She never wrote for the character. It was something that was not planned. They originally went to Zaslow to offer him the role of Alan. He, of course, turned them down because that was a ridiculous idea, but then he suggested coming back as Roger. At such short notice, it's not strange his return was not handled well.
    • Eh...but neither had been in town. Know the name Roger Thorpe? Sure. But Alex would have gone crazy trying to memorize all of Alan's co-conspirators/lovers/wives and Fletch didn't even know Roger/Adam was on the island, IIRC. But who knew or should've known each other is always a little dicey when people come back to town.
    • I wouldn't call Tomas' cuts a modern cut. They appear to be a slim/extreme slim cut⏤cut slimmer down the sides, with a higher armhole, which pulls up/out, depending on the fit of the person's body. Again, I feel like Ms Featherstone is buying to fit the wrong parts of the body; instead of buying to fit their widest parts (shoulders), she's buying things to fit their middle/waist (which is the easiest to ultimately fix without a complete re-cut), and it shows in the finished product. And the only reason it irks me is because I worked in suit sales for nearly ten years, and I notice these things immediately. The fashion(s) on this soap are miles ahead of three of the four others (I like the fashions from Y&R), but the tailoring is a choice, especially where the men are concerned.
    • There probably would have been a good chance they knew of him, especially with his ties to Spaulding and his being involved in so much scandal (meaning there would be plenty of photos and articles around they both would have seen), but I agree the mask was silly, clearly just a TV moment.

    • I think all the suits are fit too tight, except for Jon Lindstrom's. DC lawyers/doctors are not all LA fashion elites. Yes, maybe Tomas would have a more modern cut to his suit, but an established guy like Bill wouldn't go around looking like that lonely button on his jacket was ready to explode constantly.
    • I do think there's room for optimism, especially with Amazon making enough new episodes to last until December. There's still time for the various players to get their ducks in a row. Guess we'll know soon enough!
    • I do agree it's better to just have people pop back into town. I never understood why Roger needed a mask on an island, when neither Fletcher or Alex would've known who he was. And the vine...sigh. Couldn't he have just been sent crashing through a window or something?
    • When the announcement was first made, I did wonder if other plans were in the works. I guess we can always keep hoping, especially as the show has a small core cast.
