GH sucked so bad; they need to retire the entire old writing staff. RC and FV should be given complete autonomy. They are the only true talents in daytime. In 11 or 12 RC episodes they made GH watchable for the first time in a decade. The way they are weaving in Starr/Todd is absolutely brilliant especially given how quickly they took over GH. Sure they will make mistakes but hiring fresh script writers is a good move.

From what some have said over the years the problem with GH was the headwriter, not the scriptwriters.

OLTL had flat dialogue under RC (and the "cute" dialogue often crashed to the floor), so I'm not sure if that's something which needs to be brought over.

Phelps and Guza sucked; they drove GH into the ground. Guza had a few good years after Labine because she had run out of steam and the show as plodding along. But once his mob [!@#$%^&*] kicked into high gear, the show was unwatchable. I hope Valentini sends all the old writers packing.

Yes, but do his writers necessarily mean they shared his view or are bad writers? OLTL was unwatchable for much of 2009 and 2010, yet some of those writers are being brought over to GH. Will lines like "my heart has a hole the size of the moon" bring back GH glory days?

OLTL's dialogue was very stilted and could be hokey at times. GH's scriptwriters should stay (except for Dave Kreizman).

Oh and WTF at that piece of dog doo still being employed! This is one of the reasons soaps are dying. All the shows are just recycling the same 15 people to write them all.

garin wolf has been writing soaps since 1983, conforti since 1986. It's time for them to take a break. OLTL script writers were a good mix of newer people like Sickles who is very good and Courtney Simon who is also very good. Every show has bad dialog at times. But Conforti and Wolf loved that mob [!@#$%^&*] too and they needed to go.

Its time for some fresh writers I am not sure if its because these writers cost a lot or what it seems to me they need something different. Maybe it will be for the best who knows they can always ask them back. I'm sick of Korte, Wolf & Conforti (Shelly Altman hasn't impress me much) for me GH script writers are quite stale my pet peeve (among others) are the excessive mentioning of Sonny & Jason's name in dialog so much by other characters is a real tune out for me yet they won't stop doing it. They pimp hard in their dialog they needed to go.

    • I don't think Chelsea has a true label just yet. She's just finding out she has an interest in women. I think the awkwardness is aligned with the character as we've seen. This is the fool who keeps filming her family when embarrassing things happen and live streaming it. I actually think it's refreshing she isn't just jumping into a relationship  and that they're playing the beats of her trying to figure out who she is.
    • Wow, do I agree with you. Chelsea is coming off as ridiculous. All she does is look for a woman to date while not caring about her business at all. That she's bi is great, but they're not writing her like she's bi. She seems to be lesbian. Yeah, I know -- "no labels." I just don't find the writing for her story to be anything other than awkward.   -- I hope we get some diagnosis finality with Bill's trip to the hospital. I don't want to see these trips to the ER every other day. -- Naomi is going to blame herself for Bill's health problems? GMAB. -- Ashley doesn't read as a real nurse in the slightest. -- Another day, another rinse and repeat conversation with Derek and Ashley. YAWN. -- Kat is making mistakes, but she's fun to watch and listen to, regardless. -- I still think the Joey/Vanessa/Doug gambling story sucks. I know Doug is deeply in debt, but I don't like him acting this meek and submissive.  -- I'm not sure what Joey's plan was from the beginning, or why he had to seduce Vanessa at all to get his way. I'm not sure what Vanessa ever saw in Joey -- why doesn't he give her the ick? -- I'm fine with a story where Doug and Vanessa take out Joey.  -- The fades to commercials were pretty bad today.
    •   Victoria's house (that she long ago lived in with Billy) burned down (I think Aunt Jordan set it ablaze?). Victoria briefly moved into the ranch after the fire, with Claire, Johnny and Katie, I think? Mariah and Tessa and baby Aria had been living in the tack house but they bought a house we've never seen and moved there. Victoria, Claire, and Cole then moved into the tack house as soon as Teriah left. I guess Victoria's children Johnny and Katie would live with Victoria at the tack house eventually? But Johnny and Katie went to boarding school during the school year. Not sure if we'll see Johnny and Katie for the summer vacation or where they would live.
    • Victoria’s previous house burned down.    And I know why characters frequent Crimson Lights 3 times a day for brownies, muffins and empty mugs:   THERE’S PCP IN EVERYTHING.
    • Today was a good episode, and the week for that matter. I think they've also done a better job with background music. The scenes in todays episode weren't as silent as they usually are in the background and it was noticeable. I think the show has found its groove well and I'm still invested.
    • Garneau was in the Liberal party and his riding was in Montreal. He was the first Canadian in outer space.
    • I agree. I really have enjoyed this story from the beginning. I feel like it needed the time for us to care about Doug. They've done a nice job of explaining his motives and making me care for him. I still feel like he's doomed and Vanessa will end up being a widow and now I'm invested in that *not* happening now that I've fallen for him. Friday was good but so was the entire week. I think they're doing such a nice job of keeping things moving. We got good movement with Bill's story this week, Chelsea is attempting to date, Andre and Dani are having tough conversations about their relationship, of course Anita reunited with Sharon. There is *so* much going on and I didn't even cover all of it.  I wish all of the soaps would take a page out of BTG book and start rotating their stories. I love that everybody is getting a chance to shine and they don't just sit on one lead story to the point you get sick of it.
    • Did Jordan Clarke have a departure sometime between 1985 and 1989? I know Robert Newman had three runs: 1981-1984, 1986-1991, 1993-end.
    • Well, they usually weren't on the show at the time for long until the late 90's. But yeah, they really deserved a story centered on them, and not through the lens of Reva.
    • Chelsea was doing the absolute most today! Why was she introducing her sister to a woman she doesnt know? That whole scene was embarrassing. Madison needs to stay away from her bc she is too immature
