I thought the episode was really good! Loved the flashbacks and seeing Quinn as Nick Reed, and Casey. I also thought that was a pretty neat twist to have the angel be Nikki's mother.

I also loved the Douglas reference, but i feel if they wanted to kill him offscreen it should have been mentioned.

I choked up during that one Nikki and Katherine (great to have Jeanne back BTW!) flashback, i assume that's when Rex was killed.

After reading some of the positive comments I decided to watch. Probably the first episode I watched all the way through in years and years.

The flashbacks were well chosen, especially that scene where Casey shamed Nikki, which I hadn't seen before and which was very effective. Nikki's sense of worthlessness and failure are usually only ever addressed when those clever writers need to tell us again that Nikki used to be a stripper. I'd like to say this will be a positive change...anyway, at least this was finally an episode which was actually based on a character's past that viewers have seen. One of the many reasons the Chompers and Adam episodes were so hollow was down to their tantrums being based on rewritten history, most of which was never seen.

Poor Jeanne. I'm glad she was able to be back for this.

The old "let's pray because it's Christmas" routine is Bill Bell through and through, but the main difference is the lack of integrity most of these characters have. To see Sharon and Nick, both worthless whores without a brain in their heads, who exploit and neglect their children, "praying" for Victor...it made me nauseous.

The scenes with Nikki crying for her mother were pure cheese but MTS was born for that type of scene. The last scene was also very moving.

The previews - Daniel seems to be trapped in the year 1996 with every damn hairstyle he has.

LOL at Sharon telling Victor that men controlling/telling women what to do ended three decades ago and he proceeds to steer her away from Adam, moments after he tried to force Nikki back into rehab. This whole Nick ultimatum is just offensive - he's no better than Adam when it comes to keeping Faith away from Sharon. The writer are really off-the-mark on this one.

I don't know. I love Adam, but if I had an ex who was hanging out with a sociopath, I'm not sure I'd want him having access to our child either. I don't want to believe that Adam would hurt Faith again, but he is responsible for that child being ripped from two mothers already. I'm not sure he would hesitate to use Faith as a pawn again if he finds himself hurt or pissed, so I see where Nick is coming from, even though I think he's a smug ass.

Almost every character was badly damaged by this writing regime, but Sharon is just on a whole new level of destruction. I used to like this character, even back in 2008, but now honestly I wish she wasn't around. Adam is still an obnoxiously stupid character.

That's just two characters; don't even get me started on the other 80% of the cast.

Adam's kidnapping Faith was BAD, but, his telling Sharon that her baby was born so badly deformed that he had it cremated to spare her was WORSE. Seeing these two together is not only disgusting it is offensively nauseating. IMO TIIC had a chance to do a type of Stockholm Syndrome story with these two but blew it BIG TIME.
