July 1, 201114 yr Member Great news that it's confirmed! I'll be anticipating the fact that there might be a healthy dose of flashbacks during the finale.
July 1, 201114 yr Member We should all get to watch the final episode together. I wish there was a way to create a chat room or something. I unfortunately most likely wont be able to. I'll probably be busy with school at that time
July 1, 201114 yr Member I unfortunately most likely wont be able to. I'll probably be busy with school at that time You have to do the last ever friday ho's though. *sob* that makes me sad
July 1, 201114 yr Author Member I unfortunately most likely wont be able to. I'll probably be busy with school at that time That's also the dilemma I'm having/wondering about because I'll have started film school by then!! I have been crossing my fingers that I get the flu or have that day off or something LOL! Yes indeed...I'm gonna be a mess the whole two hours and then a zombie over the weekend. I'm going to be so depressed & thinking about it non-stop probably for months!! It is going to be SO sad, seriously!
July 2, 201114 yr Member Good decision on ABC to calm some of the fans. You know this is going to be GREAT with Lorraine and Agnes there. Now like many of you said you know you are going to CRY! Now that it's been confirmed, I'm ready to comment on the 2-hour finale. If any soap ever deserved one, it's AMC. This show set the bar in so many ways when it comes to social issues and humor on soaps. I'm probably going to be a wreck most of that week. If there is a live chat, I'll call in sick to work that day just to have the support!
July 2, 201114 yr Member Eric, you were missed bud. Another thing is, there's no rule saying that a finale can only last a day. I think the full final week should be a finale of sorts, not unlike 25th anniversary week. I really enjoyed those episodes because it was almost like a fireworks show, a steady stream of special entertainment for four days with a nice big ending on Friday. If they are going to do flashbacks, start them early, [!@#$%^&*], start them NOW I say. It is always the same ones anyway so I'm really not even pressed for them but I know they're inevitable. If they really dig or at least make an effort to use flashbacks that create full circle moments for characters that would be really nice instead of the usual parade of clips. Also, if ABC isn't being super stingy in these last days of AMC and One Life, they could always make use of their website and put special clips and such on there making the air shows a little less cramped and rushed. Thanks SFK! I agree, it would be a nice sign of some sort of thanks if ABC started putting up clips on their site. Even full episodes (or else whoever runs that basically neglected agnes nixon site could do the same...)
July 2, 201114 yr Member Yes indeed...I'm gonna be a mess the whole two hours and then a zombie over the weekend. Part of me wants to watch the finale the old way I watched for most of my run with the show: on a crappy VCR tape at around 9pm-ish with a bottle of Minute Maid pink lemonade, but there's no way in the world I'm gonna miss watching this live. I might even skip the live thread that day just so I can soak in every second of the finale. A friend and I already have the day booked off--and we'll be watching with plenty of Myrtle's spiked lemonade... (BTW I'm glad someone else still watches on a crappy VCR, I get teased mercilessly about the fact I still use mine--if I could afford it I'd by a DVD recorder just to save the episode). And I'm in for a live chat. Edited July 2, 201114 yr by EricMontreal22
July 2, 201114 yr Member I'm just mad Biggie Smalls is still "hearing" things. It's like, dude... you're hater. Have a seat! Word.

And I'm in for a live chat. I'm actually considering taking the day off myself. I only know two offline people who watch soaps one is my Dear Gay Husband (DGH) and the other is a coworker who only watches GH. It looks like DGH might have to hold my hand that day. The problem is he may expect me to hold his hand when OLTL goes off and that ain't happening. I unfortunately most likely wont be able to. I'll probably be busy with school at that time You need to get your priorities straight. Edited July 3, 201114 yr by marceline
July 3, 201114 yr Member I'm definitely requesting that day off from work So am I. Or at least a half day, if they won't give me the full day. LOL
July 3, 201114 yr Member I have a freshman-level Biology class at the time AMC comes on. It's basically gonna get skipped harder than a jump rope in Rocky.
July 3, 201114 yr Member I have a freshman-level Biology class at the time AMC comes on. It's basically gonna get skipped harder than a jump rope in Rocky. Freshman Biology?!! OMG you're just a baby! But the Rocky reference is one befitting an old wise soul. You confuse me.
July 3, 201114 yr Member No, no, I'm a senior! I took this class several semesters ago and did horribly in it. I'm retaking it with a much easier/lazier instructor, which will make it very easy to skip on the 23rd. If it's any consolation, I remember watching the OJ Simpson chase. Don't ask me 'bout the Berlin Wall, though...
July 5, 201114 yr Member I don't think any soap NEEDS a 2 hour finale, but I'm glad they're doing it. Ideally, I agree with other comments that the entire first week SHOULD be a finale, but many soaps haven't done that. Hell, take the last month and u can spread out returns and make it a total celebration and just build and build towards that final week, then episode. I hope thats what happens with AMC and I think it has the chance to have the greatest soap finale. We'll see.
